Avalon Dental Centre

It's a very busy place. Professional, polite. The reason for 3 stars is because they advertise services on their website which they do NOT do and instead refer you elsewhere, ultimately costing you more time and money. These procedures are as follows: crowns, dentures, bridges, root canals, extractions and anything that requires dental surgery. They only do minor restorative work.

Months complaining of tooth pain. Told no issues. Finally they realized my tooth was cracked. Was told tooth is not viable! Went to Cowan Heights Dental; they were fantastic! Root Canal at Cowan Heights Dental was less a pain than a cleaning or waiting to be seen at Avalon Dental! Never returning to Avalon Dental.

Here is the posting that was on Face book after this young woman called to cancel her appointment because she is ill with influenza. This was picked up by CBC radio and the interview will be on CBC radio on Feb 4 afternoon.Your practice's policy borders on malpractice. When a faithful patient does you the courtesy of advising you that she is sick, you should appreciate it. A complaint to your governing body is warranted .I am a physician and advise anyone who has flu like illness to stay home and out of busy waiting rooms.8 hrs ·I have a dentist appointment at Avalon Dental today, but I'm exhibiting symptoms of influenza. So, knowing that the worst thing you can do with influenza is to bring it to a public place/medical waiting room and I called the receptionist. I was told I would still be charged $50 for missing the appointment, and that as long as I felt well enough to go most hygienists didn't mind having a sick patient because they wear masks (!!!!!)I find this so completely inappropriate. The dentistry industry as it is is already incredibly unaffordable and most people are not able to take care of their dental health because it's such an insane profit-driven industry. But charging someone $50 dollars for following common sense/medical advice, which is to absolutely avoid spreading influenza, is ridiculous and terrible terrible medical practice. Dentists are medical practitioners and this is totally and completely irresponsible.I cancelled the appointment. I guess that I care more about the health of people in the waiting room at Avalon Dental than their health practitioners do.

WORST Customer service ever. Caled to book an appointment and they said they would call back with a date. No one ever called back. Called back a few days later only to be told that I can't be seen due to missed appointments, when I didnt even have any booked. Also alot of extra charges on your bills after the fact. See someone else if I were you.

Fantastic staff all levels ( hygienists, dentists, front desk staff, managers). Excellent customer service and specialities.

Hygeinists are friendly enough but expect a LOT of extras on the bill as they prefer to add things at the front desk rather than ask for consent, especially on children. They do the same thing to adult clients too. Never going back here. Do not recommend.

I used to be afraid of the dentist, it was literally one of my biggest fears and I neglected my dental health for so long. Until I came to Avalon dental clinic.The staff are super friendly, the dentists are highly professional and they even take the time to learn about you to serve you better, they found out I have a problem with anxiety and pain, I was accommodated. Now my visits there are routine and I've never been happier with my dental experience.Check them out! I bet you might find a new home for your little chompers too.

I’ve never made a complaint like this before but here it goes. Been going there for years and had to stop after having Kelsey Shepard clean my teeth. She was very rough on my back teeth. When I left I decided I would not have her clean my teeth again. the next day, one of my back teeth broke into pieces. Went and had had it rebuilt by them only to fall apart again. Then the other tooth on the opposite side broke apart too. Hopefully this is not a regular occurrence with that hygienist because it was worst experience.

I've had good experiences here but the last little while I've become frustrated. They cancelled and rescheduled my appointment two or three times. Will find a new dentist.
