Canada's Best Karate (Hillside)

My daughter started at CBK last year and it's now her favourite thing to do. She's gained a lot of confidence and strength and Sensei Kieran is so great with the kids. The other teachers are awesome too. And Teri! Basically they're like a family and they adopt your kid and make then feel like they belong.

My son was really nervous and shy for the first couple of classes. Now he and his sister really like this place and enjoy learning and practicing Karate. All Senseis are doing a great job! We will definitely recommend this place to our friends.

Best Dojo, best Sensei (Kieran), best academy, kids and youth friendly, this academy with his Sensei, really focus and helps kids to be strong, not just physically, but also mentally strong in a very positive way.LF

All three of my kids have grew up at the Dojo on hillside and have learnt karate along with life skills that help in their daily lives. Sensei Kieran is fantastic with his students and the parents. Canada’s Best Karate truly is the Best!

Our son has been training at CBK for 3+ years and we have been so impressed at the quality of. Instruction and leadership. Sensei Kieran does an amazing job challenging the kids to work hard and persevere. He is firm and fair with plenty of humour to keep kids smiling through the whole class. Classes are offered on a flexible schedule which has made it easy to stick with karate through seasons and the virtual karate classes during COVID were much appreciated.I am also very impressed at the confidence and leadership displayed by the young kosan teachers. The teens that lead or assist classes are respectful, kind and excellent role models for younger students. Karate classes at CBK are well worth the investment!

Sensei Kieran is a fantastic instructor! He is supportive, and our whole family enjoys his classes! My children started karate 8 years ago and my husband and I joined about 4 years ago. We always have a good time at the dojo with fun, challenging classes. It takes a special skill to teach teeny, tiny kids and adults and all the ages in between, and Sensei Kieran is amazing at it!

Can't say enough good things about Canada's Best Karate. Really great instructors, truly exceptional people. These are the type of people you want your kids to learn from. It also has a relaxed atmosphere for a place where hard work happens, which was a nice surprise!

Canada's Best Karate Hillside is definitely the best! Sensei Kieren is SO good with the kids. He knows just how to motivate and he makes them put in 100% and in a way that is edifying. The kids love him and his staff. Our daughter has really benefited from attending the dojo. It has increased her confidence, stamina, and has been a very positive social atmosphere for her, too. Finally, the folks at CBK have done a magnificent job of navigating the whole COVID thing and they have been extremely generous in making sure people are getting the value for their money at the dojo during these tough times.

Our 8 year old daughter has been going to CBK Hillside since she was 5. She has tried a lot of programs -- figure skating, dancing, gymnastics, etc -- but Karate is the one thing she has stuck with. That means a lot to us, because we have seen how it has built her self-confidence and stamina, character traits that will help her throughout life. Sensei Kieran's style is to keeps thing fun for the younger kids, while teaching the structure and discipline of karate. CBK is not cheap, but we feel the overall value it offers is well worth the benefits it provides. CBK Hillside offers numerous extra-curricular activities, such as tournaments, PD day and summer camps, which help busy parents and allow students to spread their wings. And the dojo's efforts to stay open during this pandemic -- through Zoom sessions and other innovative offerings -- shows how much they are committed to their students. We are very grateful for Sensei and all his assistants and staff, and encourage anyone interested to give it a try.
