Embassy Inn Hotel

We stayed for just one night on our way up Island, but would have like to stay longer. Staff were super accomadating and helpful (thanks Donna!). We'll definitely stay here again when we're back in Victoria.

Very nice hotel for a short stopover. Close to everything and immaculate gardens out front. Adequate breakfast, the only thing that spoiled it was the chef and one of his staff stood over you whilst you served yourself which made it quite uncomfortable. At one point she yelled ‘NO HANDS’ right across the room when someone picked up a muffin instead of using the tongs. So unnecessary and embarrassing. A quiet word would have sufficed but no other food was touched so very easily avoided.

Basic clean accommodations. Our room was large and comfortable and having a kitchenette was convenient. We loved being able to sleep with the balcony door open. It was surprisingly quiet at night. The location is perfect, close to all the tourist sites and restaurants. Breakfast had a good variety and was fresh. It's not upscale but fits the bill. Parking is free.

We have stayed at several downtown Victoria hotels over the years but this was our first time at Embassy Inn and will not be our last. We were impressed with the quality of the rooms, pleasant staff, and overall experience. We love the location, and highly impressed with the garden and lawn landscaping in front area.Keith, Port Coquitlam

Nice place for the whole family with Parliament just next door.Wish I had this hotel/experience during the bulk of my vacations. Clean room that comes with a mini kitchen that even has pots/pans (even though I'm not comfortable using public things it's still great to see it's available). Slightly narrow room but nothing to complain about.Serious props to all the staff and the head chef I believe watching the food area. Amazing breakfast (probably the best breakfast I had in a hotel so far that isn't 4-5 stars), accommodating and polite staff at the desk, and awesome free hot chocolate at the machine. No complaints during my stay.

I am returning from 6 weeks in resorts in Mexico and decided to stay in Victoria for a few nights before returning home. The Embassy Inn room was as comfortable - although smaller - as the resort hotels I stayed in. Very clean. Large bar fridge. Microwave oven. Safe. There are lots of outlets for charging devices. Comfortable Beds. Their continental breakfast service is good. It is right in James Bay and close to downtown - very walkable.

I like to write reviews while still at the hotel, so that management can take action if they want to keep a customer.This was the worst welcome I’ve ever had in any hotel, in any country.We arrived at 11PM after a very long delay at the ferry. There was a man at the front desk. I said good evening, he didn’t reply. I said good evening again, he said “Name?” in a hostile tone. I told him my name. He replied, still hostile, “do you have any card that will go through this time?”For context, the card I had used on Booking was not working in Canada for whatever reason, so I called the hotel earlier and explained that I was arriving late due to delays at the ferry and would settle everything with a different card. They replied that it was everything alright, nothing to worry about. For some reason, this very rude gentleman wasn’t informed of my talk with the earlier front desk employee and assumed I wouldn’t pay the hotel.I gave him a new credit card and told him that I was expecting a happier welcoming. He then turned his back to us without replying and asked another employee to take over.The huge gap between expectation and reality made this experience very disappointing. Expecting the internationally famous Canadian friendliness, we got the most shocking hostile welcome.

Very awesome place! Breakfast is complete with scramble eggs and meats and etc. The parking is free and wifi is consistant at 40 to 100 mbps depending when. Staff was very very accommodating and help us a lot! Location is absolutely best. You can walk to everything. The room looks older a bit but bathroom recently renovated and it was very very clean everywhere in the room and the hotel.
