I was there with my son last week. He lives at CFB Bagotville. He is also English speaking but is learning French. He and I were speaking English to each other. While we were at the cash having his groceries tallied up, the cashier kept piling stuff up on other stuff, not bagging anything. I come to realise that they don't bag groceries there. OK then. I start to bag the groceries and my son pays for them and he speaks to her in very broken French, but he is trying, you know, he's polite and all. So because we aren't bagging fast enough for the cashier, and it seems that we are holding up the line for the next customers, she makes a comment about anglos and we being so slow. I am bilingual and I give her a look and my son grabs my arm and tells me she isn't worth it. That her ignorance won't be changed with me telling her off, that she has probably been an ignorant old bitty all her life and to let it go. My son showed extreme class and that old bag should be fired.
