Jamie and Paul led us on a wonderful tour to Windy Bay and the Hotsprings. They shared information and personal stories that really helped me appreciate Haida Gwaii and the people here. Lunch and snacks were delicious. Thanks for making a quick change due to the weather to keep us safe and comfortable. I highly recommend booking one of their tours.

I was on the waitlist for months, hoping that a spot to SGang Gway might open up during my 5 day stay. Well, sure enough, they called me and I was able to do a wonderful trip to Windy Bay, Ku’una and T’aanuu. The fickle weather meant the longer southerly trip unsafe but I was not to be disappointed. Jamie and Paul were absolutely super. As one who lives in Victoria, I have been surrounded by the myth of the Haida, the art works, the political debate etc for many years but it has been the day with Paul and Jamie, listening to the pride in their voices and seeing their history in place that puts ‘flesh on the bones’ for me. To know that Paul helped paddle the remains of Bill Reid to rest in Ta’anuu was so touching, and that Emily Carr paddled the coastline that we followed, gives me new meaning to their works…one understands their inspiration. I hope to return and will definitely do another trip, weather permitting. Thank you Jamie and Paul and your elders and watchmen as this special place really is yours. Had such a good trip! The guides are so kind and so informative. I learned so much about Haida Gwaii and the Haida People. I would definitely do another tour !

This tour was the absolute highlight of our trip to Haida Gwaii. Captain/Chief Rob and his cousin/our guide Paul were amazing, informative and humorous. We learned a lot of the politics, economics and history from Chief Rob, plus an awesome amount of personal history, architectural, and artistic information from guide Paul. The subtext to all this was expanding our awareness and understanding of the personal, social, familial and cultural consequences of colonialism in general, and residential schools in particular. Thank you. We are blessed.

We came to see the wild and beautiful landscape and to learn about Haida history and culture. It would be difficult to imagine two better or more experienced guides and teachers than James and James, and the Watchmen we met along the way. We spent a wonderful day with them and fellow guests, and are very grateful for having had that most enjoyable and memorable experience.

This is one of the best cultural tours I have ever taken. It was a full day on the water with great elucidation from Chief Robert Russ and his partner Rhonda. Sgang Gwaay was like taking a step back in time. You could feel the hair stand tall on the back of your neck as you walked around. Well done and highly recommended. Almost forgot to mention the humpback whale show we were treated to.

Truly a once in a lifetime experience when on Haida Gwaii. Took a school group up last week and was certainly the highlight of our trip. Our guide Rob was absolutely amazing and was such a great host. The students really appreciated all of his knowledge and stories.Keegan who works as the Operations Manager there was so helpful with getting us set up on this trip, which was appreciated as we'd never been to the islands before.We will certainly be working with them again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day tour to Gwaii Hannas National Reserve. The boat comfortably held 12 guests and staff, we were provided with rain pants and boots. Tour staff were of Haida ancestry and very knowledgeable about Haida history, ecology of the area, the islands and cultural activities. The tour guides were also very friendly and keen to show us their homeland and share their culture. Having the Haida perspective enhanced the tour. The boat driver was also a fantastic cook! We enjoyed a lunch of fresh and local foods.
