Hellenic Home for the Aged-Toronto

The service of The Great Compline at the small chapel of Saints Cosmas and Damianos was beautiful, and the supper with the residence that followed with festivities set the perfect tone for a blessed Great Lent.

The place we have all visited one time or more in our lives.The picture is of my uncle Nicholas (Nick) Barlas owner of Nick's Sport Shop on Yonge St. from 1961-2021 who donated back in the 80's to the Hellenic Home under his soccer team (owner of) Pan Hellenic Soccer Club.

They help people a lot unlike other homes. They really take care of you. I have been working with them for quite some time now.

So impressed with such a cool place. The space is very open and clean. The people are so nice.

This is a lovely Seniors home, the staff take very good care of my Mom and they have lots of programs and activities for her to stay ingaged. The quality of my Mom's life life has slowly improved in the last year. She is rerolled in the Seniors day program.

Hellenic home is where my Yeya" Grama is. The place is very clean excellent staff and alot of Greek and Macedonian seniors that keeps good company all day."

My grandma loves this place. She's always doing different activities and having a great time with friends. I love seeing her be happy.

Hellenic Home for the Aged has many red flags. The staff, from CEO down the line of command have big egos; are aggressive towards family members of loved ones who are active and involved adult children looking after the well-being of their loved one. We pulled my mother out of this horrible home because they drugged her to a catatonic state, defying all the family wishes.Don't be fooled, like my family was, with their high standing with the Ministry of LTC. Look into all the complaints filed with the Ministry of LTC against Hellenic before you do anything else.Do not trust any of them, not the CEO, not the Director of Care who doesn't care or the the Administrative Assistant Poli. Our experience was a nightmare and still is trying to obtain as much information as we can to address concerns all the while looking after my mother who has so much personal injury as a result from her 3 1/2 month stay at the Scarborough location of Hellenic Home.If you're touring the secure unit, you should wonder why so many beautiful souls are in wheelchairs in this unite while only a handful are on their feet. BIG RED FLAGOur rate for Hellenic Home is ZERO star. They don't deserve it at all.

Holy cow the elevators are super super slow. There are only 2 elevators and one is usually out of service. People are nice though
