The Yarn Guy

I went into the store hoping to get advice in how to alter a pattern to accommodate a smaller size (I am a beginner to intermediate crocheter, but I haven’t taken on a project like this before). The staff was very unfriendly and rather than assisting me with my question, I was told to go YouTube it and made to feel like my question was wasting her time. Needless to say, I did not make a purchase. I’d like to support local shops, but frankly the staff at Michaels are more helpful and polite.

I love this place, huge selection, friendly staff, TTC accessible. Need I say more. Every time I go there I feel like “A kid in a candy store!”

My sister and I just found this place. Wow! It’s amazing!! A huge inventory, I could look and dream for hours!! Prices are good too and owner and staff very friendly and helpful:) I won’t run out of inspiration as long as I can drop in here:)

I absolutely love this store! Could spend hours in there, staff is super friendly! Only downfall is ordering. Make sure they have enough in stock for your project.There has been three times i have purchased yarn and there hasn't been enough in stock for my project so staff suggested i purchase what they have, they will order more. They never follow up regarding my 'order'... The most recent time this had happened i left my phone number brand of yarn, colour etc. Never heard back. Three weeks went by i popped back in for a follow up, staff had no information on my order.. When i provided her with the brand, color of yarn she searched and stated that the yarn had been discontinued. I was pretty disappointed my blanket came out short. Three months had past i was now on to something else went back.. The yarn that was apparently discontinued was now on the shelf.Other than ordering this store should have exactly what you need for a decent price.

If you're looking for one stop shopping for all of your knitting, crocheting, and sewing needs This is the place for you! One of the largest selections of yarns I have seen in the city, in a variety of textures, and and materials, with every colour of the rainbow (and a few more besides!). The store is quiet, and spacious, with a hometown feel I was Not expecting to find in the city.Friendly, and knowledgeable staff, make you feel immediately welcome, and they will answer all of your questions, and even anticipate potential needs you may bot have considered.I bought my first sewing machine from Peter, the owner, and not only did I get a better deal than anywhere else I have seen, but he made sure that I got the machine that was right for both my skill level, and fit my ambitions for future projects; and no wonder hes been doing this for decades!This is definitely going to be my home sewing/crafting store, and I wholeheartedly recommend you check it out. 10/10

Full to the brim little shop with HEAPS of yarn. They also sell notions. Helpful, approachable staff. The parking is very limited, and confusingly signed.

I had high hopes from all the positive reviews, but unfortunately my experience was not great.I was looking for a specific yarn for a project, and their website said they had it in-stock at the store. When I drove down, I was told that it wasn’t there but at their warehouse up north, and that I would have to order it online. When I attempted to do just that, their website wasn’t working. I should have just given up at that point honestly. But I called in to place the order and was told that it would be there for pick up in a couple days.A week goes by, I call and am rudely told that they hadn’t gone to the warehouse yet but definitely will the next day. Another couple days goes by, and guess what? Same answer. After over three weeks of this, I finally get a call - they don’t actually have the yarn I was looking for… almost a month lost on this project only to have to source the yarn all over again and having to deal with rude people at this store.

Best location for Knitting fans.Knitting machines usually less expensive than from Amazon.Plus - The amazing staff are there if you need them.
