I’ve been a fan for Pilot coffee for years and the location in uptown Waterloo does not disappoint. On top of having fantastic coffee, the staff are positive, kind, and they go above and beyond to meet the needs of customers. This location has nailed the customer experience.

Great customer service and vibes from the employees. The space is bright and very clean. I ordered a matcha latte and it came with art. Delicious! Black coffee was nicely brewed; perfect temp and aromatics. Thanks for opening up this gem!

I'm just so glad that this place opened here in Waterloo like a month ago. I go to their Toronto locations a lot and I was kinda mad that Waterloo didn't have that many great coffee shops. Since their opening I've been here at least 5 times and the coffee tasted really good, I like the simplistic interior design as well, makes me relaxed. This will be my spot for coffee now.

This cafe offers truly exceptional coffee and friendly service. The light roast recommend by the barista was one of the best tasting coffee I’ve ever tasted. Also loved the simple and minimalistic interior design. Overall an amazing experience and I will definitely visit again!

The coffees and cookie were delicious. We had two Café Lattées and a apricot oatmeal cookie. The young woman who served up was really friendly and conscientious. It's too bad that the atmosphere of the Café was as friendly as an unnatural melding of a sterile operating room with Scandinavian design.

I'm a huge proponent of shopping locally and am really pleased that there is another not-so-corporate coffee shop in uptown Waterloo. But, I'm not going to be going back.I had three concerns:Sadly the coffee beans in my espresso based drink were way to green for me. I know the trend is to light roast but I really don't like the taste. If there was a dark roast option, it wasn't offered to me.Then there was the noise in the place... There were 9 patrons in the store when I was there and the chatter of those people talking made it very uncomfortably loud. They went for a modern look and neglected to have a single soft furnishing to absorb the noise.My third concern is about the service. I stood in front of a till under the menu board for at least 3 minutes before any of the staff made eye contact with me. Two of them were busy but the third was loitering. Then when someone did notice me, she made me feel foolish by making a thing about using a different till. It's obviously just not a place for a guy that is over 50. Too bad.
