Cyclesmith Halifax

The bike was shipped from Nova Scotia to Ontario. The bike came in a large box, was well protected, and easy to assemble. The person touches, and interaction with the store made this distant purchase very personal. I would purchase and have items shipped from the Cyclesmith in Nova Scotia again.

Avoid!Last summer it took this place 3 times to fix a small issue.After buying brand new tires from them, I keep getting flat tires. Had them replace my back inner tube. Got my bike back and got a flat tire immediately, noticed the hydraulics dial no longer works and the brakes aren't quite working like they used to.It might be a nice place to shop (providing nobody is getting arrested right outside as I have once witnessed) but the service side is lacking. I think their model is to flood the floor with salespeople and have kids diagnose and fix problems until the customer goes berserk enough that the senior guy has to have a look - resulting in too many trips to this place and a bit of disrespect to customers' time.

I’ve been taking my bikes to cyclesmith for the past 2 years and have always had a good experience. After a recent tune-up for my mountain bike here, I was continuing to have some problems with my derailleur. The manager encouraged me to bring my bike right back, they fixed the issue right away. I recently bought a new bike here. The service I received from two staff members (Tor and Greg I believe) was really exceptional. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful and kind and I appreciate that they all wear masks. I understand this is a locally owned business that pays their employees a living wage, so I would much rather spend money here than a chain store. Very happy with the bike and accessories too!

My wife and I just bought a couple of Konas; the service, information and patience we received from the staff (Alejandro in particular) was exceptional! Cyclesmith is a top tier shop and 100% recommended!

I moved to Halifax for school in the fall of 2001, and I'm pretty sure that Cyclesmith (at it's original location on Quinpool Road) was one of the first places I visited. After a few test rides I walked away with a Giant ATX 870. Not the flashiest bike out there, but it was what I could afford and every time it went in for service they treated it like it was worth a million bucks. That makes you feel good about what you've purchased. It survived a major accident in 2002 and the mechanics were fantastic with the rebuild process.Things changed and after about 15 years I was no longer using the bike and made the decision to sell it. Time for it to find a new home and not collect dust.My wife and I are now proud parents and the time came to purchase bikes for everyone. Cyclesmith was the first place that came to mind. I hadn't visited the new location on Agricola yet, and I was blown away by their setup. There are certainly a bunch of faces that I don't recognize, but everyone I approached (or was approached by) was friendly and helpful. Our two kids were properly fitted for bikes and treated like royalty - they loved every minute of it. I was next, followed by my wife. Four bikes in total and no regrets. I've been back a couple of times for accessories (which are discounted for a limited time after you buy a bike!) and have had to go through a fitting process for those. Again, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff who made me feel good about my purchases.Both kids started from scratch but were riding within a week on their new wheels - we're all looking forward to group rides on local trails. It's been a fantastic month, and a lot of that revolved around our experience at Cyclesmith.I worked retail throughout COVID and it was an absolute slog. A huge thank you to everyone there for making us feel welcome and safe. I think that's a hard thing to do after what we've all been through. We'll be back, and we'll encourage as many people as possible to do the same.

I was really so pleased with Cyclesmith. A very helpful sales assistant, Savana, helped me to pick out a trail bike that was right for me. The store is busy, but there seem to be lots of people available to help you out here, and as I am an absolute beginner trail rider, I was really a bit nervous. They don't try to sell you the most expensive bike, but they do help you to choose a reliable trail bike that won't break your budget. There are no hard sell tactics here. Very engaging, friendly staff, very helpful, I give them absolutely top ratings. They are doing it right. I love my bike, and I have everything I need to go exploring. I have my Trek warranty and I'm really all set.

Ordered online. One of their items I bought was OoS, so they personally called me and offered a better item as a replacement, for no increase in cost. They even checked if there were other sizes. Got the shipment promptly and packaged well. Will definitely shop here again, hopefully in person in the future

Such an amazing company to deal with! Prices were astonishing, online ordering was quick, easy and the representatives that helped me with setting up the payment was great! package came when it said it would, and it came in perfect condition! Overall quick and easy purchase and was highly impressed! Recommend this company to anyone wanting to order! And last but not least, I had to write a review as I heard something shaking in the box, I look... and it was a lollipop :) That simply made my day!
