Topps Music Service

We hired Topps for our wedding this past July. The reception was done ...okay. For the most part it was good but lots of questions throughout the night. I usually would rather have questions but not when we put all the information on the planner that was requested a week before the date. We had our ceremony on the beach so we thought we should pay the extra money and have the DJ come with a microphone. We paid an additional $200.00 plus $35.00 for the mic. As everyone walked down the isle the song transition... well lack of transition was horrible. The songs were not lined up ready to go in turn made a large pause between songs. They also weren’t faded out they just stopped dead. The worst part of the ceremony was the mic cut out not once or twice but 5 times during our vows. The DJ kept coming to the mic and blaming it on our officiant. Maybe the first time she hit the mute button but after the first time it happened that’s all my husband and I watched for. She did not mute it the next 4 times. My husband contacted Ron on the Monday after the wedding and he just blamed it on the frequency or something ( the DJ was maybe 7 feet from where we were standing not sure how that could have been interrupted). In the end he refunded the mic cost but that had not been offered. I do not write reviews but this is necessary. This was the biggest day of our lives and the most important moment of our wedding day. Needless to say I am very disappointed we decided to have them at our ceremony.

James was our DJ for our wedding last weekend, and he kept that dance floor going all night! He played us everything from Earth, Wind & Fire, to Lizzo, to Finger Eleven. He read the crowd, took requests, and we now have many amazing memories made.

Have used Ron from Topps for a number of friend's weddings and socials. Always a great time and extremely reasonable compared to others out there. Would highly recommend.

We got to work with Topps Music again this past weekend. As a planner it's always nice to see the familiar name and know you're in good hands. Always a pleasure working with Ron and his team. Highly recommended.

Where do I start!! We hired Ron & Topps Music Service for our social this past weekend and let me say, they are AMAZING! Ron is kind, informative, helpful & a 15 out of 10 DJ!! The songs were bumpin’ all night long and the dance floor was never empty. The song variety was fantastic, we had people of all ages loving every second! ….. THE LIGHT SHOW!!!! GET THE LIGHT SHOW! It was so great, was the perfect vibe for the night and worth every penny! It was the best addition to the social and made it feel like one big party! We can’t wait to have them back for our wedding this August for another awesome night of dancing and celebrating!We HIGHLY recommend Ron at Topps Music Service for your social! (And any other event!!) Thanks again for a night we will NEVER forget!!!!

DJ James was absolutely fantastic at our wedding! We couldn't have asked for a better DJ to help make our special day unforgettable. Throughout the entire reception, he was able to read the crowd perfectly and kept everyone on the dance floor all night long. He was also extremely accommodating to any requests our guests had, ensuring that everyone had a great time.I also want to mention that DJ James was incredibly accommodating when it came to last minute changes to our music choices. He went above and beyond to make our day less stressful and we are so grateful for that level of dedication.All of our guests have been raving about how great DJ James was, and we couldn't agree more. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a talented and professional DJ who truly cares about making your wedding day the best it can be. Due to the unforeseen circumstances of covid, we decided the best option for us was to cancel our wedding completely. We contacted Ron with the allotted 300 + days stated on the contract that we would be cancelling our wedding and would expect a full refund back of our deposit. Ron did not provide us with a full refund and took it upon himself to only provide us with a quarter of the deposit. This was not discussed or agreed upon. It was our understanding that we would be receiving a full refund back. We have not heard or have had any communication from Ron to receive our full refund. Very unprofessional and displeased with the lack of customer service. Would not recommend.

Unfortunately our experience with Topps Music Service was not the most positive one.We hired Topps 7 months in advance for our social, specifically requesting either Shane or Ron, as we had heard great things about both of them. I was advised that both Shane and Ron were free for the day of my social (and wedding as well) and said that I would like to book them.I filled out my social planner two weeks before with a list of songs that I wanted the DJ to play off of throughout the night. I was told by Ron that some of the songs on my list may not be played due to time limitations (I had submitted 118 songs and there was only enough time to play around 75). I had no problem with that, and just wanted to have more than enough to fill up the night with all of my favourites that would keep people on the dance floor. Ron replied to this informing me that he had all of the songs requested in my music planner and request list, which I was very happy to hear.On the morning of the social I received an email from Ron stating that a DJ other than him or Shane would be my DJ at the social. I was dismayed at this as I was under the belief that either Ron or Shane would be there, as Ron had confirmed that both of them were available for my date. There was no reason provided as to why I was now having a different DJ come to my social.At the social, the DJ seemed to be unaware of the playlist I had sent in. Many of the songs played were not from my playlist, and many were songs I did not recognize at all. When requesting certain songs I had included on my playlist throughout the night, I was informed that he either did not have them at all, or didn't think he had them and would only double check after they were requested multiple times by multiple people. This was confusing to me as Ron had confirmed that he had gotten all of the songs I had asked for.Unfortunately when these complaints were brought up to Ron, there was no apology or solution given to any of the issues we experienced.

We picked Topps on the recommendation of a couple of friends of ours who used them for their wedding. Ron was the DJ at both our wedding ceremony and reception. He was amazing. The transitions during the ceremony, during which there were several songs, were smooth and without any catches at all. During the reception, all songs requested by all guests were available and played during the dancing. The guests raved about the music, and we only picked out about 10% of the total songs. Everything was perfect.Ron even went a step further and helped us with a childhood slideshow SNAFU by loading up some good music on the fly and playing it alongside the presentation at the last second.All in all, Topps is tops. We recommend them without hesitation. Reasonable price, excellent DJs. You won't be disappointed!

We had Topps music play at our wedding social as well as our wedding, and both times we were very pleased with their services.At our social we had DJ Corey and he was awesome and super easy to work with! Throughout the night he would find me and ask me how things are going, how I wanted certain announcements made, and made sure the crowd was enjoying themselves. I'm glad he was so approachable and acted like he actually wanted to be there. That made me feel a lot more comfortable communicating with him.At our wedding, we had James, and he was also great! I didn't talk to him very much because he was already started by the time I got to the reception, and he didn't need to make as many announcments, etc. as we needed done as the social. But he was very friendly. He looked like he was having a great time and was dancing at his table the whole night, it was obvious he is passionate about what he does. He followed our guidelines and requests we gave him and seemed very excited when he announcenced our entrances, etc. which got the crowd excited as well. One thing that really touched me about him was that my little cousin (special needs & requires a fair bit of help) decided to just plant himself at James' table pretty early on in the dance portion of the night. Instead of just ignoring him or asking him to leave, James was dancing with him, talking to him, joking around with him, and making announcments to try to get all our guests to get him to do certain dance moves. My cousin normally is just with his parents all the time, so I know it made his night. The gigantic smile on his face all because of James was priceless.Ron was very easy to communicate with the whole process leading up to our events and always answered right away if we had any sort of questions. They are very reasonably priced and we got excellent service, so I am very happy we made the decision to go with them. Would recommend to anyone!
