I rented a car and travelled from another city just to secure a new car I wanted to buy and paid the deposit and did the required paperwork too on Friday afternoon. The sales guy told me that he had all my paperwork ready to secure the car. When I arrived there he and the sales manager both confirmed that my car is sitting at the port of Vancouver and my deposit will secure the car for me. On Saturday afternoon the Finance person sent a text message to me saying that I was approved and I was happy thinking that I would enjoy the car of my choice very soon. On Monday about an hour before dealership closes the sales guy called me to casually inform me that the car for which I put a deposit had already been sold to someone else and if I wanted the same car in another colour & trim it could be made available. I wasted my day, travelled all the way spending my time, money for car rental and gas for nothing!!When I asked the sales guy how that’s even possible despite my paying a deposit on it and securing it, his reply was that there are hundreds of salesmen working and it had already been sold at another dealership and neither him or his manager or finance person could check in the system which is totally unprofessional and unacceptable. I can term it as a breach of trust rather. Dealerships traditionally use a stock/reference # to secure a car for the buyers/clients with their deposits which disables anyone else to secure the same car. What is funny is that he calls to tell me after 3 days of process for which I paid the deposit. This is a clear case of breach of trust and unprofessionalism least to say. I could’ve used my time and rental vehicle to search for other cars on the weekend but they wasted my 3 precious days, gas and rental costs.I am constrained to share my bad experience and hardships caused to me due to this unprofessional dealership. I do hope that these people would not repeat the same things with others.

Stopped in to investigate the possibility of trading in my truck on a new Tucson. Things when really well and we struck a tentative deal with a vehicle that was due for delivery in three weeks. We left a $1000 dollar deposit and left. We were told that the deposit was non refundable. I had previously reached out to Abbotsford Hyundai and the salesman phoned to see where I was at. i informed him that we had made a deal and he asked for a chance to better it, which he did. I talked to the sales manager at Maple ridge Hyundai and politely asked for my deposit back. He went on to explain how the dealership was out of money on a car that was already booked to come in because my name was now attached to it . I believe this to not be true. I even went so far as to tell him I would be happy to pay the expenses if there actually where any.I understand that I signed on a non-refundable deposit but it feels like they are being a little unreasonable. the gentleman I talked to was going to talk to his manager so at this point it is still unresolved. Hopefully Maple Ridge Hyundai will do the right thing. Just got off the phone with the general manager and all is resolved, with a full refund. Thank you so much.

The stress of trying to buy a new electric car has been a challenge - Brad at Hyundai Maple Ridge absolutely took all of that away. It was the first time I felt heard and had someone explain options and answered my questions clearly. He knew I was the one buying the car and he addressed me and not just my husband and made sure he knew what I wanted. He kept in touch during the wait for the car and when we called he knew who we were. When I picked up the car he had it in the showroom so we would not be in the cold while we reviewed the car. It made me feel special - he took the time to show me all the ‘many’ new features in my first all electric car. He never made me feel rushed. Karen in finance made the process really smooth and clear as well. This my first Hyundai and I anticipate it will not be my last. My new Kona electric 2023 is amazing!
