I called Breakaway Cycle from the road because my bike was making some noises and I was peddling alone from Kitchener to Wawa and wanted some peace of mind. The girl that answered the phone was SUPER helpful, asked me when I thought i’d be getting there, and it told me that their bike mechanic Bill normally takes his lunch at 12:30 and he will wait until I get there so that he can fix my bike and get me back on the road as soon as possible. I arrived just before lunch and Bill greeted me and was super helpful. He let me stay and watch as he worked on my bike and showed me a few things that helped me along the road. I ended up buying a blanket from the store but Bills Service was beyond. He gave me a business card and said if I run into any issues along the road but I’m not know and he’ll come and have a look. I thought that’s not likely but that was a sweet thing to offer. It turns out I did need to call him and he immediately came down the highway in tuned up my bike a little more. Bill would not take any money as he was motivated just to do a kind deed. It warms my heart so much meeting people like Bill who not only love what they do, they love helping people. This is a great shop with a good selection of camping, paddling and biking gear, clothing and shoes. They also have a very helpful and friendly crew running the place.

My wife and I have Brompton bicycles, and it just so happened that both of us got flat tires while we were on the island, while that was sad luck, we were lucky to find break away sport and cycle. They were extremely helpful, reasonably priced and got us back on the road quickly, so we could carry on with our vacation. :-)

Large selection of outdoor wear and gear. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Excellent place to stock up on anything you need to hit the trails or get in the lake.

Passing through town and have had a persistent clicking coming from the drive train. Mechanic was able to get the work done quickly to get us back on the road. Friendly, knowledgeable, and fair!

I've recently purchased a new mountain bike from Breakaway and couldn't be happier with the bike or the service. Their staff is knowledgeable, friendly and willing to take the time to make sure you get the right bike for you. Retail has lost its personal and educational touch over the past few years, but not here. Amazing staff and a wonderful experience!
