The best almond croissants, hands down! So worth the trip to the Danforth for this indulgence. They also have great brunch options as well.

Staff are friendly. They put in a conscious effort to make their guests feel welcomed. Croissants are flakey and buttery. Baked goods all looked delectable and freshThis place could use an update on their interior and some ambient music to fill in the stale silence. But this is a personal suggestion and may not fit the Cigogne approach, which is perfectly OK. On the other hand, perhaps their current look is part of their branding and charm. Hard to tell without more context.

I bought a small chocolate cake with macarons on it, and an almond croissant. The cake was delicious and not overly sweet. Perfect for chocolate lovers, especially dark chocolate. My favourite though was the almond croissant. It's hard to come by a good almond croissant and this one did not disappoint. Perfect perfect croissant, but best of all, generous almond filling! I'll definitely be back to try out other pastries, and will also be buying many almond croissants haha!

Fragrance, service, taste and excellence. The Patisserie La Cigogne at Danforth combined all of this. These small beautiful eating places make the Toronto dream come alive. No hustle, no hurry, smiling staff and the fragrance!! Parking readily available in what is just off the heart of downtown. And so easy on the wallet. I am now a dedicated customer.

I used to go to the original location for years. It was superb. Now it just looks good. They now all taste like old cardboard. So sad. Now I need look for a new place. I cannot stress enough how bad all the items were. We tried eight of them. Most ended up in the trash. The latte was so bad we could not drink any of it. Clearly the new owners only care about appearance and profit.

Best almond croissants in the city. They do have great cakes and other yummy pastries, but their almond croissants are top notch. The croissants are baked, then filled with the most yummy almond filling, then they're baked a second time to make the entire exterior super crunchy and flakey.I once bought a dozen almond croissants and that might have not been enough.Service is really friendly and they have a nice little patio for the spring/summer months.

A cute big French bakery on the Danforth. There were a variety of pastry and viennoiseries options available. Perhaps too many it was very difficult to choose. There are also a number of packaged freshly baked Biscuits and cookies. In the end I went for a almond croissant, and a pistachio Croc Pastry slice. The Almond croissant was one of those typical double baked croissants with an almond filling and almond on top. I will say however, that I was very pleased that they either didn't add any almond essence or added just enough to elevate the croissant without overpowering the flavour. I was actually rather disappointed by the pistachio croque pastry. I found it it was almost as if they were trying to combine two distinct desserts into one. There were four there's to the pastry the top one being a so-called pistachio mousse then a crunchy crock lair, followed by a frangipane all on top of a shortbread pastry. In all honesty it feels like the top two layers or supposed to be a different dessert or is it just put on top of the bottom two layers. The mousse itself was very Bland and didn't really give a pistachio flavour at all, the only sign of any pistachios was that it was a pale green. Over all the flavours were overpowered by the crunchy layer in the middle which was incredibly sweet, almost too sweet. The frangipane or almond filling didn't really actually have a flavour per se, but it did add a nice textural contrast to the shortbread. Finally the crust at the bottom was very thick and oddly a bit stale. Again, overall I was quite disappointed by this pastry. It was very rich however. I'll probably go again to try some of their other deserts however, since it's really difficult to write off a bakery based on a single experience, and the employees were nice, although a bit rushed.

Today Epiphany day and I purchased Galette des Rois (French King Cake). It was sold with a cute crown and a small fevè, actually as it should be. But the cake itself a big disappointment. The puff pastry not puff at all, tested like an old stale dough. The old pastry was filled with almond flour and, probably, semolina or something heavy. Please, if you looking for “Galette des Rois” avoid this shop by all means. And I hope they will remove the word “French” from they site to stop mislead people

Patisserie items are delicious but far too over priced: a small pie costs 46 $.For the price they charge customer service should be a lot better. The floor was filthy….Chips boxes as decoration?

Pastries, while tasty, are very expensive. Very little atmosphere (feels like a cafeteria). Coffee is good. Staff are sweet.(Prefer Douce France nearby and it offers more of both.)
