Great deals for Black Friday. Incredible patience and people skills by employee, William. I’ll admit (reluctantly) I was outside at 830 am waiting. I was the only guy in line. I was both cold and crowd shy. Gentle hints of foggy sunshine stretched across the Costco lot. The roller doors finally clattered open and in I went: fast but controlled. As I approached the Wireless Kiosk at a brisk and determined pace (Did I mention I was first? It was incredible..) I caught a flash of a rapidly moving human at my 9 O’ Clock…. The flash, who’ll I call “Gordon” was a man in his 60’a with a look of guilt in his eyes. “Gordon” broke into a run and announced that “He was first” as he cut in front. I looked at “Gordon” and thought back to the 2020 Costco toilet paper wars and it all came sharply into focus. Yes, “Gordon”, you are #1 in line, but a #2 in my heart. As for William: stellar people skills and Uber helpful. William deserves more than 5 stars. But not for you, “Gordon”. Not today.
