Dog Behave

I have an English Mastiff that's just over a year old and my husband and I rescued a pup from the reserve we live in. They get along great and were doing awesome out of crates during the day. Then they started getting bored. It began with eating baseball caps and then escalated to disembowelling the sofa. Thankfully our friend happens to be Allyson's daughter. Allyson's advice was fantastic. She recommended some mental stimulation at home as well as going on sniff walks. Within a week the dogs were napping from long walks and not getting into mischief. My husband and I really appreciate the advice and insight on socializing our dogs as well as raising the pups on a reserve. Thanks Allyson for the great advice.

Allyson is a life saver! She helped me to understand why my puppy was behaving in an aggressive way. She has given me hope that I can rehabilitate my dog with the strategies she provided. She was in my house for 4 hours and my dog was literally eating out of her hands and wanting to jump onto her lap. I’d never seen her be that friendly. Dog behave is worth every penny.

Allyson is amazing...I was rather naive when i choose to gets puppy and even more naive when I picked which one to get. I was new to dogs and thought a border collie was a great idea having heard how smart and loving they are. So that's what I naively got..A cute little bordee collie straight from a farm whose parents were both full time herding dogs and named her Sapphire.I was so glad Allyson was there to help me with Sapphire. I had no idea what I'd gotten myself into by getting an extremely smart, high energy dog from that was also straight from actively working line lineage. Both of Sapphires parents were full time herding dogs all their lives.Allyson was amazing. Without her I hate to think how everything would have turned out . I learned so much and Sapphire became an amazing very well behaved loving loyal companion.Allyson's on going support was incredibly helpful over the years. I am so grateful for it. Many big life events occured that were major changes for Sapphire so when I didn't know what to do when bad behavior would start showing Allyson was just a call away and I was able to solve it and keep Sapphire on track. To name a few, My partner and I split up, I ended up moving from a house with a yard to a tiny apartment downtown Edmonton, a year later I had a baby, then another couple moves, then I did a huge move to Saskatchewan to be with family. And every step of the way if I needed advice Allyson made it all seem not so impossible and I was able to get unwanted behaviors quickly under control.Fast forward and it's been almost 10 years and sadly a couple months ago Sapphire crossed the rainbow bridge. She was the happiest and most well adjusted best behaved dog . Everyone that met her throughout her life fell in love immediately. Non-dog people would tell me if they could have her they'd become dog people. I was constantly told by friends and strangers how they wish they wished their dog was like her or they couldn't believe how good Sapphire was. No bad behaviors ever became a problem.I truly believe that thanks to Allyson and everything I learned that Sapphire turned out so amazing..With Sapphires proper behavior established teaching Sapphire fun tricks and new things came so easy and naturally and I was able to fully use Sapphires border collie smarts and her need for a job to my advantage.Now as I write this I am looking for a new puppy and while I'm nervous I know it will be ok because so many of things I learned from Allyson will stay with me forever. Honestly its too bad I still live in Saskatchewan, because I was back in Edmonton I wouldn't hesitate for one second to hire Allyson again for my new puppy..I highly recommend her to everyone.Well there you have it..the life of Sapphire; my best friend; from the beginning to the end Thank you Allyson.

Ellie is our rescue dog we have had since she was three months old (she is now two years old). We are diligent dog owners: feeding, exercising, and socializing her as per our vet and every “puppy guide for first timers” book told us to. 7 months ago, our fur baby was starting to act differently, even though we hadn’t changed anything. Having never been puppy owners, we did not know or notice the subtle signs Ellie was telling us things were not okay. It started getting to the point we couldn’t go near other dogs while on leash. Our sweet girl started to lash out and pull away, and just wasn’t the dog we knew. We were advised to do obedience classes and training, but found it difficult to register a dog that couldn’t be in the same room as other dogs. We also did not like the idea of punishment to correct these concerns.A family member told us about Dog Behave, and we are thankful we made the call. Allyson gave us the knowledge and information to be able to read Ellie’s body language, and how to help her feel more confidence in her every day activities with us. A thorough assessment of our daily routine lead to small changes that we noticed a difference in Ellie’s behaviour in two weeks. Ellie is still a work in progress, but we have hope for our sweet girl. We appreciate all the knowledge Allyson has given us, as well as her accessibility for support should we have questions or concerns later on. Her professionalism and knowledge is above anyone else we sought help from, and her approach makes you feel empowered to help your pet (instead of feeling like a horrible pet owner who punished their dog to get a wanted result). Allyson was so wonderful and taught me and my family more in two hours then I had learned in my lifetime with dogs. We got our dog when my twins were just over a year old and I wanted someone to make that addition easier. Thankfully we found Dog Behave. Stella (our dog) is so well behaved and mannered and such a joy to have around the house. I am so so grateful that we called Allyson and highly recommend her!
