I love to shop at local small businesses, and I will gladly pay a markup in order to do that. The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful. It's like a crazy little gift shop...stuffed to the brim with goodies! It's well worth the trip.

We are very happy with the meals, and the selection is very good, so it is easy to choose several meals each week.

My little family and I live in the Beaches neighbourhood, and I and my wife try to support the local businesses. I had a bad experience with the lady who owns this shop. I walked in there one day and asked her nicely if she carried any charcoal fire-starter fluid which I needed in order to start our grill. The woman said I was in luck, and that yes she did happen to have exactly that product. She said she normally doesn't carry it, but happened to buy some for her own personal use and only needed one can and therefore was selling the others. Then she brought out the cans, which were the type that you use to directly fill a lighter, not the kind you squeeze to get fluid over your charcoal briquettes. I looked at the can and read it's directions and it's dispensing nozzle and realized it wasn't what I was looking for. I said this to her, and she responded that it was what I needed. She kept repeating it aggressively 'this is what you want,' which escalated to 'are you stupid,' and then she told me I am dangerous and don't know what I am shopping for. I have never had such a bizarre experience before. I don't know if their is some sort of mental health issues at play here, but the lady was really extremely belligerent and disrespectful. I did not engage with her, my baby was in her stroller. Needless to say I just casually walked out, but I thought to make a review on here to let other buyers know not to be surprised if they get accosted with similar behaviour. There are so many great shops in our neighbourhood, this business and the way it is operated is an anomaly. One I hope to see replaced someday.

Incredible choice of products from around the world. Knowledgeable. Love this place. I always spent too much money just walking through the door.

I have always had a positive experience at Cook It (Queen East in the Beaches). They have everything in a tiny space and often things I can't find anywhere else. It is great to have a store like this in walking distance. I love spending my money in the hood! It is great value to not have to trek downtown or to the burbs.

This store always has great service. The queen street location is packed with different products that the store owner knows every detail about. Extremely knowledgeable service, and they will order anything that they don't have in stock. I have been in professional cooking for over 6 years now, and this is my go to place for very good quality products. Though, you do pay a bit of a premium for some of the products, the amazing service is what makes up for it. Highly recommended!

Garbage store 100% markup on a tortilla press vs amazon. Even with 25 percent off it was still 18 dollars more than the price. Ridiculous to see them think they can get away with something like this. I can understand higher prices for local stores compared to big distributors but really twice the price? Hope they go out of business promptly
