Five stars could never, ever be enough. Hands down, the best food I've had in all of Maine, maybe all of the Northeast.When you walk in, the scents of smoke, roasting meat, sweet maple, and tangy bbq envelop you. It's small and cozy but not at all cramped. The service was phenomenal, the owner and staff beyond friendly.We had the loaded fries to start, and man were they loaded. Every thick, hand-cut, perfectly cooked fry was covered in cheese and bacon.Then the burgers, BBQ, and sides came out. This food was *so good.* The burgers were artfully styled and piled with flavor. And HUGE portions! I had the bourbon burger, my son devoured the Hawaiian, and my husband tore into the riblet dinner. The biscuit tasted FRESH and fluffy. Then... The waiter asked if we wanted dessert, which was a special spice cake. My son wanted to try it so we ordered a slice. We'd actually been sitting near the owner/chef and had chatted back and forth a bit, super sweet gentlemen. He'd mentioned that it was a very old, Native American recipe.When I bit into that cake, I started crying. That one bite took me back a decade, to before my grandmother passed away, sitting at her table in Oklahoma. She called it raw apple cake, because she added diced, raw apples to the batter. They cook down to almost nothing but add moisture and density and sweetness like nothing else. I told him that, through an embarrassing amount of tears. He was floored that I recognized the recipe, and we both ended up in tears after he called his own mom to tell her.I was already impressed with the food, but that was an absolute gift from the universe. And from the owner, literally, as he wouldn't let me pay for the cake.I am so thankful that we stopped by Timberwolves today, and we will definitely go back before we leave next week.

The food is amazing. Every time I come in, I try something different. The portions are amazing and their BBQ sauce is worth enjoying. I even buy their sauce in our local store when it is available. The atmosphere is great, service is the best in the area in the food industry. I always leave full and very satisfied. The drinks are amazing and it is worth the trip whether you are local or traveling. Timberwolves is one of my favorite local eateries.

Wasn’t ready for the interior of this place in Mars Hill. Modern, but comfortable, cool music playing and fun decor. So many great food options to choose from and they helped me narrow down my indecision without being pushy.Great conversation over the short wait for a Mac and Cheese Skillet with Brisket that I couldn’t help but finish.Great value, great food, great people. This will be a destination on all my trips back through what I always saw as a drive through town. Keep up the great work and customer service. More establishments could learn from Timberwolves.

The food here is top notch. Lots to choose from on the menu, delicious entree specials and made fresh. Good beer, spirits and first class hospitality. The atmosphere is relaxing, making it a great place for a date, bringing friends or eating solo. We will definitely be making Timberwolves our frequent eating place and watering hole.See you all next time!

We decided to stopped in for lunch for today. The staff was helpful and pleasant and did not mind making small talk at all. The food was delicious the burgers were very good but the brussle sprouts were out of this world. We definitely will be back.

So this place is way more than 5 stars!!!! The waiter and owner are the nicest and as friendly as you can be!! I went with the breakfast burger, not only was the burger cooked to perfection the egg that went on it as well was cooked perfectly, every bit had the perfect bite of egg, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion. No other burgers exist in my life now this is the burger place of Maine!!!!!

It was great to enter and it not be crowded or loud. Great music playing and a wonderful drink at the bar! Delicious food and I loved that the owner came out from the kitchen to check on how his customers were liking their food. The bartender was amazing too!
