A year ago, after getting permanently laid off my job in business development in the automotive industry, I started working with a Career Counsellor through Work BC. After doing multiple self improvement and career searching workshops, I decided that going back to SCHOOL was the right choice for me. I applied in November of last year. I told my Career Counsellor during our next meeting. She replied with, How would you like Work BC to pay for your diploma?" She went on to tell me that there was a $7500 cap (Which would cover about 70% of my program) and that I was also eligible for living expense funding during my two years of schooling. Since school was a year away (the soonest I could get into my Culinary Management program) we kept in contact monthly but she assured me that we did not need to go ahead with any paperwork until school is a few months out. While I walked into the Work BC Centre in West Kelowna to check out the new centre no clients are their. It feels very cold. Plus all the questions that they ask don't make you feel like a human being. Just a number for stat's. If you don't have a sin number or you can't remember it don't go in for you can't be a static for them it will be a waist of your time. Cheers
