Burnaby Hospital

Based on my friend’s experience, I would say it’s an horrible time in this place, the triage staff is racism in an public hospital! I can’t believe it happens in Canada in 21 century. The nurse was yelling at my friend’s parents to not spreading the virus!? And go back to home? How rude is she, his parents got other health issue and that’s why they are going to hospital for help, and the nurse just told them to go back to home, it’s unbelievable. Even the government said all people are free whatever they are positive or not, but the staff there in public hospital, refused to take the patients, and yelled them to go home!I really suggest you guys not going to this hospital and also to whom may concern about this problem, hope you guys can attach great importance to this issue. It’s not ok, and it’s illegal.Finally I hope that staff’s parents been treated same in the future, and then she will know how bad is her.

Doctors are great. Nurses are rude in the waiting room. Bad organization. Nobody knows who the nurse called. If you miss their calling because of their incorrect pronunciation of the patient name, you have to wait at least three hours for the next calling in the emergency department. It’s crazy. Hopefully, they will replace their inaccurate pronunciation with spelling letters when calling patients' names in the future.

Long hours emergency room wait. If a patient had emergency heart problems they probably be dead at the waiting room. Some nurses are nice but some are awful. After wait for nearly 4 hours i was called once and then the emergency room door close when I walked over i was told to sit and continue to wait. May be privatized healthcare services would be something to think about in the near future.

Doctors are generally pretty good, nurses are hits and misses depend on who you get, some can be pretty mean. The triage and front desk clerks are horrible, lack of compassion and empathy. Totally understand the pressure and work load they face, but patients are going through life and death sometimes, a little empathy is much appreciated.

RUDE STAFF! Especially at the triage section, watch out for the Asian lady with glasses and the white chubby brunette girl. I thought they were just tired with the shift so I tried to understand their attitude but seeing all reviews here, it seems like they are really awful people. Waiting time at the emergency center is too long

I really hope burnaby Hospital has improved their medical service quality more than before. I had a terrible experience at burnaby Hospital back in 2019 December's.I nearly died due to a lack of knowledge(experiences) of a triage nurse and an ER nurse. I was very septic already when I arrived at the hospital, I waited for 4-5 hours after seeing a trige nurse. I could not understand it, but I had no choice. The triage nurse did not seem to care about patients there. I explained to the nurse my symptoms in very detail, but it did not help. Finally, I got into the ER, many tests were done, and my ER nurse would not give me any more painkillers after a first dose. I asked the nurse if I had a pain medication order. The nurse said, Yes

It was our first time in the emergency room so we weren't sure what to expect, but I'd consider it pretty positive. All of the staff were very helpful and made sure my mom got the treatment she needed. The care may not have been the fastest, but considering how busy it was with the limited amount of staff and space, I have no complaints.Thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and staff for their efforts. Special thanks to one of the overnight nurses (had an accent with cool colorful crocs) who cared for my mom and managed to find a bed for her to sleep in while she was on fluids. Initially she seemed a bit stern, but she was very straightforward and caring which I greatly appreciated.

The receptionists are so rude idk why they still work there. They don'tcare about people and never show empathy. Even a robot could do a better job talking to people than them. They never have space and always have atleast 6 hour wait time for emergency. Even if you have to do another test at this hospital, you have to wait months and sometimes they forget unless you call them. Don't go here. Worst Hospital EVER with HORRIBLE staff
