Salt + Ash Beach House
Came here on a Friday with six friends. We had reservations for 8 but we got there just after 7 however they were still able to accommodate us.The atmosphere is very welcoming. Be prepared to stay longer than anticipated.All the food was delicious! It’s definitely one of the better restaurants in downtown Halifax.The jalapeño cornbread reminded me out the southern American states. It was so flavourful and buttery! The molten cheese dip is to die for! We ordered 4 of them for the table.The lobster boil was lacklustre. It wasn’t worth the 90 dollar price tag. There are so many other dinner options you can choose from at a cheaper price point.One of my friends said the pepperoni pizza was top three she’s ever had in her life!There was an error inputting our orders so we didn’t end up getting our food for almost 2 hours. The manager came by and apologized and brought out a few apps and drinks on the house. I really appreciated him acknowledging the mistake instead of hiding it.Overall I had fantastic birthday. I will 100% return next time I’m in Halifax

Salt + Ash Beach House
Every time I go to Salt and Ash they have a very lively atmosphere. Absolutely beautiful design inside of the restaurant. Some time ago finally visited for dinner and I was amazed how tasty everything is. After ordering spicy and sour chicken, I didn’t have much room left so I got a pie of the day : mushroom, pepperoni and cheese pizza… that’s the best thing what I ever had!

Choices on the menu, OK. Prices not bad. Had the cod, which was OK, not a lot of flavor (I do love and have caught cod, having it immediately fresh). I loved its paring with the lentils. Partner from NL insisted it was frozen. 9 in our party, many had burgers and tuna poke. They said the fries were excellent. Service from Tyler very good.

Pretty good experience overall, service was great. My only slight disappointment was the dessert menu needed a bit of excitement rather than the usual cheesecake, chocolate cake, ice cream etc. The grilled haddock and clams on couscous could have gone without the peas and the sea buckthorn(i don't like peas).

Had a great dinner on the patio. Great happy hour and atmosphere. The food was delicious and it’s a great fun place to come with friends for a night out. Service and food is very fast. We got the scallops and the kale salad.

Just stopped in a few cocktails and appetizers at the bar. Amazing atmosphere. Smells great with the wood stove and pizza oven. Staff are busy but chatty and fun. Jalapeno corn bread is killer. Will definitely do it again.Oh and the late night happy hour prices are a great idea.

Had an amazing brunch at Salt + Ash. The food was inventive and delicious. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Drink service was a little slow but it appeared they may have been down in staff. Food service was very quick and food was piping hot. It is a very bright yet cozy and welcoming space. Will definitely be back.

let me tell you this place was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, the smoky aroma wafting through the air immediately set the tone for what was to come.The menu is full of mouth-watering options, all cooked to perfection using only the best charcoal.The meat was tender and juicy, with a rich smoky flavor that left me wanting more. The char-grilled vegetables were also a standout, the perfect side to the main course.The service was top-notch, with the staff being knowledgeable about the menu and more than happy to make recommendations.

Dropped into the latest Freehand hospitality expansion, Salt + Ash, which just opened a few weeks ago. Stopped in for a birthday Brunch, and our server, Justin was great, quick to fill up coffees and water, and quick to fix any mistakes. We enjoy a large variety of dishes, from the steak and eggs, to the Avocado Toast. Everything was great! The restaurant has a super cool vibe, and will definitely be the spot this summer! Can't wait to come back

Salt + Ash Beach House
Excellent first experience here. Service was very fast and friendly and the food was amazing. My brother and I popped in during a Sunday afternoon for some lunch and he had the fish and chips and I had the burger.My burger was unbelievably fresh and tasty. Even the bun was super soft and fresh. Absolutely delicious!I look forward to coming back for dinner soon.
