Antigonish Victorian Inn
The Antigonish Victorian Inn is in a great location - on the main downtown strip of Antigonish. Check in and check out were really easy. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom was clean. Temperature control was really good. The downsides are that you must use stairs to get to your room and if you're on the top floor, the second set of stairs is quite narrow. Also the room I had did have a private bathroom but it was located across the hallway - it wasn't a part of the room. It's also the first place I've stayed during this trip that didn't have any refrigeration available to guests. The bathroom also had some leftover garbage in the bin and some stray hairs in the corner. The shower was also tiny. All that being said, I would stay here again in a pinch.Note that I've posted this same review on the site where I booked the hotel and the property manager has responded positively.

The owner is a delight. We arrived just after hurricane Fiona hit and power was restored. Despite the downed trees all over the back area, the owner maintained focus in his guests. The room was lovely. Comfy bed and good water pressure. We enjoyed a great meal at a neighboring bistro, took a walk in a charming town and thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay.

we stayed overnight at this lovely house on July 4/22 The room was very comfortable. But when we checked in at 900 pm we were told no breakfast would be available due to kitchen issues. But food would be available in the morning. So in the morning there was a coffee machine to make coffee or tea. A few muffins that were there the night before when we checked in. No water juice fruit or toast. No offer for a discount because this was supposed to be a bed and breakfast. Be warned.

Beautiful wood work in the lobby. Friendly staff and excellent wifi service. I didn't have a room directly inside the Inn but yet room 10 the garden apartment. Full kitchen heat pump and deck area. Great location in Antigonish

Antigonish Victorian Inn
We booked this Inn because of the charm that we saw on the internet and the reviews. As we pulled it up it looked like a lovely Victorian Building, and then we got into the parking area. There were 3 scruffy looking men sitting on a set of dilapidated stairs, beneath a roof that looked like it was badly in need of attention. As we approached, the men scrambled up and started directing us. These were the new owners. I went inside to check-in, and one of the 3 refused to put on a mask. We were given keys to our 'ground floor' room, which had a set of stairs to climb. The room itself was very cozy, but dusty. It had pillows and cushions strewn somewhat haphazardly on the furniture. They weren't clean, that was for sure.A striking feature of the room was the iron mounted conveniently next to the shower, so that when you came in or out of the shower you couldn't help but bump into it.There is no more breakfast, due to 'COVID', though if you read other posts they claim it is because of the small size of the inn. Of all the places we stayed this was the most expensive, and that includes the 5-star Sutton Place in Halifax.I would avoid staying here. It isn't clean. The owners are somewhat rude and seem far more interested in getting your money than providing you with a good experience. I could go on. However, I feel duped. This is of course the hazard of booking through the Internet.

We only stayed one night, which is why I can’t say much about service; we checked in late and they were accommodating to us. We stayed in the garden suite in the back and it was amazing! The bed was so comfortable and we slept very very well. If we had a reason to be in the area longer, I would definitely stay there for multiple nights. We are in our late 20s and feel this may be over seen by some younger people but it’s worth the stay. Very good breakfast that was provided as well!!

The rooms are cozy, the AC is very powerful which is much appreciated in the hot summer heat, and the location on Main St cannot be beat, but the real star of the show is the manager Raju. Extremely professional, knowledgeable, and very accommodating; he even helped me with a tie I was struggling with before a wedding! Raju exemplifies the best in customer service and I could not be happier with my decision to stay here for three nights as a result!

We wanted to spend one night in Antigonish. This is an old property with a lot of character. The service was excellent. Our room was on the top floor. I only wish that we had brought a lighter suitcase.

Room was good. Clean. Grounds are pretty. Location is perfect. Lots of parking.Disappointed that we were not told that there would be no breakfast until the first morning. So it turns out it is just bed not breakfast. If you are considering this location, check on the status of the breakfast. We factures this into our trip and had to eat at a local cafe which added $100 to our two night stay.

Atmosphere of an old home 5/5Loved all the old wood, the layout(for the most part) and the décor.Cleanliness 4/5It was clean, not spotless. And beware of ants on the third floor. They look like potential carpenter ants…Amenities 2/5As much as I understand the layout of an old home made to an inn, I did not like the bathroom being down the main hall…Check in friendliness 2/5It helps to have someone from the area that speaks better English to inform you of things close by and tell you about the experiences you could have as a tourist to an area. Not check you in, wave a key at you and leave never to be seen again.Breakfast 3/5Bacon and eggs, no hash browns and no hot sauce. But better then continental!Comfort 2/5Cheap pillows and light blankets made for a colder, uncomfortable sleep.
