So glad we stopped by in this café in our recent trip to Newfoundland.We ordered coffee, and cinnamon tauton as per our server’s recommendation, and it was the best we ever had! Freshly out of the oven with the warmth still radiating from it, the tauton was crispy on the out and wonderfully light and airy.Food aside, the atmosphere was warm and friendly and the staff were incredibly nice and personable.Overall, I highly recommend Madrock café. Thank you all the staff for creating a memorable experience!

What an amazing and delicious cafe! The place is small, but the food is well worth the wait if there's any. The menu is on the blackboard above the register, and is very affordable. Staff are extremely nice and accommodating; they even remembered me and my boyfriend from days before despite it being our first time inside. Highly recommend getting the touton with cinnamon sugar and some butter. The baked beans are also an amazing size and pair nicely with a plain touton with butter dipped into the beans.

A nice place for a light meal after completing the Heritage Walking Path. We had no idea what a touton was until we patronized this establishment. We had the cinnamon touton and chili w/garlic bread. The food was good but did not quite meet the hype of other posters. It’s a very small quaint mom & pop eatery with a venue popular with the locals and visitors alike. Certainly a great way for tourist to experience the local palate and flavors.

Madrock cafe is such a beautiful little local gem. The ladies working there are very friendly, atmosphere is #1 and the service is great! It is Great to do the heritage shoreline trail and stop here after.

Such a quaint place with great Newfoundland food, lovely staff and atmosphere. We sought out this out of the way place with recommendation from the friendly gal at the Bay Roberts information centre. Well worth it!

Excellent food! You must stop by this place. I had a French toast and the Mad Rock Touton. They both were delicious. The touton is pan fried and was nice and crispy. I would definitely go back.

Delicious!! Wonderful service, everyone was so friendly and even though there was a bit of a wait she gave us several options and was very apologetic. It's a popular spot and not large inside so get there early or plan for a bit of a wait. We had to wait less than ten minsDecor inside is wonderful and looks just like Nan's house"! They apparently won a contest for the "best toutans in Newfoundland" and I can see why!!! The toutans

This Cafe has a mellow environment to enjoy a good chat. The staff is all extremely friendly and personable. I had the chef's special everything was homemade and the Toutons were crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Overall great experience and a scenic drive to get there.

Service was good and timely.Restaurant was cozy and quaint with Newfoundland style music playing overhead.Food ranged between good and okay. •Macaroni noodles were slightly overcooked, the cheese was not tasty and it was extra salty.• Mad Rock Toutons, pancakes and caramel sundae were pretty good.• Partridgeberry cheesecake, handmade was one of their better items but still lacking flavor.The price was on the much higher end.I don't suggest this place for most vegans or those in wheelchair.
