Very dissapointed in this every time we get there their is rotten food in fridge and the fridge is filthy last time there was used needles and burnt tinfoil please be careful when using this resource its sad people do stuff like this the burnt tinfoil is from fentanyl use do not touch this with out gloves it is not safe as for the needles again drug use which again do not touch this kinda thing being there could also contaminate the whole fridge making everything there unsafe if the people leaving such dangerous stuff behind have been touching stuff in the fridge or cupboard please be careful.

Fantastic initiative by the community for the community. It is an enclosed fridge and freezer with some shelf space where people can leave food for anyone in need. Right now there is a tracking sheet on the door for COVID contact tracing to fill out when you donate.

As one of the few young people behind this initiative, wanted to share a bit more about it.We have established a public repository of fresh donated foods for anyone in our community to take from anytime. Open 24/7 our objective is to reduce food waste while creating barrier-free access to nutritious food. We know food insecurity is a real concern in our Region and we are determined to confront it through mutual aid tools such as this community fridge. We are completely volunteer driven and do 0 fundraising. Everything is for and by the community! Join us on social media @communityfridgekw

Wonderful initiative by people who just want to help. I know several young people who have accessed this resource. The “no questions asked” aspect is appealing to young people who might be experiencing shame for experiencing food insecurity or are afraid people may judge their parents for their circumstances.
