The George Hull Centre for Children and Families

Our family has been receiving support from The George Hull Centre for about 6 years and we cannot begin to express the gratitude we have for the staff at the centre. We have received speech therapy through George Hull for both our children, which was excellent. Most recently we participated in the Feeling Explorers group with our daughter. To say it was beneficial would be an understatement. We have tried a variety of private therapy options for our daughter and have found Feeling Explorers at George Hull to be the most successful. Carm and Rebecca give their all to this program and their devotion is evident from the moment the group starts. They go above and beyond to create an inclusive, welcoming environment; the tools and strategies provided for managing emotions, anxiety, etc. are age appropriate and are easy for the children to put into practice. I would highly recommend George Hull for support for children and families and have had nothing but positive experiences through the centre.

So incredibly happy for my son to get the treatment he desperately needed. Psychiatric and the therapist are very professional and thorough. Love Latoya she was exceptionally helpful in contacting the therapist and resolving my issue.

The Centre really went out of their way to expedite the intake process because my daughter was reaching of age". My daughter was put in touch with Brenda and was able to get appointments with her before she reached age. Brenda was so helpful

So im going to share my experience with this centre. I have been a resident of the george hulls group home (libbys place) and the george hulls school and their counsellor. They have changed my life when i was a teenager. If it wasn’t for the george hull I probably still would of been a troubled human. Ive been with them since i was a teen. Now i am an adult with a beautiful almost 6 year old boy straightening my life out. If it wasn’t for the george hull centre i wouldn’t have had my son because i wouldn’t have met the father of my son. If it wasn’t for the george hull centre I wouldn’t have met my fiancé. This place is amazing. They help a lot. I just wanted to thank all the 2012- 2013 libbys place staff for being an amazing part of my life and all the staff that helped me in 2012-2013. I appreciate you ☺️

When I was a 10 year old child I became suicidal while in Childrens Aid custody. I was a yet to be diagnosed autistic child.I was transfered from the group home I was in, into George Hull's residential care.I would like to detail some of things I experienced while in their care.Restraint was used as a form of punishment and as a threat to gain the compliance of the children under their care.There was an empty room they would lock children in for hours on end if they didn't comply with staff direction.And the worst thing I recall happening is being told by a male staff member that he could break my arm if he wanted to and that he had done so in the past, and that it wouldn't matter if I told my CAS social worker because nothing would be done about it anyway.If you have children, stay as far away from this place as possible. I have PTSD now as an adult thanks in part to places like this.

We are current clients. I cannot say enough good things about the time, care, and above-and-beyond help we are getting. Our worker is exceptional and compassionate. I feel hopeful for our little family - and that's a gift.

I see that most of these negative reviews are from people that have never used their services but are JP “stans” Well..then let me give an honest review from someone that HAS used the services provided by The George Hull Centre. This place has helped my family in so many various ways, from advocacy to support to counselling. I am so grateful for Amanda C and Anna W who are truly amazing and empathetic humans and great at their job! My child has had so many positive changes happen in the time we’ve been with George Hull. Thank you!

For some years now, the George Hull Centre has been an exceptional support to our daughter and to us parents. Since the first appointment, we were treated with great humanity and empathy. And during the most difficult moments of our journey, when we most needed support, my daughter's therapist was always there to provide support and guidance.The George Hull Centre and its professionals have been our safe haven in these times of emotional and mental instability. We are so grateful for all that George Hull Center has done for our family, and especially for our daughter.

Hi everyone, my name is B. Judith, I would like to share my personal experience with this institution, George Hull been with us for about 11 years… Incredible but is true, they are professional people and work with justice, they never force anything or anybody, institution that goes by the book and the way how George Hull touch my heart, It’s been until today well appreciate, It’s me who is in debt with them!!! I will never gonna get tired of saying Thank you George Hull, my Counsellor did not let my family fall apart after such a big trauma that we experience they work with my 3 kids, kids that could end up on the street and became into some substance abuce, but although was rough time i did part of my job as mom too, we were in touch before COVID-19 and until now, I remember that They help me in my language, activities, sessions and be constant, tremendous miracle happened when you put your trust with serious social workers. My son was 12, my daughter 9 and the little one 5, three of them with the same sad experience, now they are 23,20 and 16 , one about to be a firefighter another one applying for a social worker and help families as the example that they share with her and the youngest taking grades to became a Veterinarian, because they learn how to be altruist, humble and be humanitarians, without George Hull, my family couldn’t reach this happiness, this peace, this joy, am very thankful for who I am now, knowing that my children have a future too, my situation is not a dream anymore If one day you hear about George Hull… do not doubt about them they will help you, inspiring you, giving you hopes showing you that is another way how fight your fears, this is a place where dreams came true, WE LOVE YOU … L.
