Aardvark Comics

So many books....and so little time. I found some key issues I was searching for, and I do mean searching....there is ALOT of books in this smaller size store. My only complaint (and not taking any stars away) is the price can be a little high on some issues. Will certainly return to search another day, just need to bring a little more money.

Best selection of back issues in the Hamilton area and the owner is always helpful and good for a humorous chat.To the ridiculous reviewers I just read through, here's a little info.1.) You can get the same issues from Big B's bargain basement? Have you been there in the past 5 years? No you can't. If you want issues of mainstream titles from pre-2010 good luck finding any down there.2.) To the kid (I have to assume) claiming Conspiracy Comics to be better...I would choose to look through Aardvark's thousands of comics over Conspiracy's 30+ comics any day. Conspiracy only stays in business because they sell overpriced Funko Pops.Going to Conspiracy for a comic book is like going to Canadian Tire for a parrot.Bottom line, Aardvark Comics is a haven for collectors, and that's rare these days.

I love this place because of the closet-like feel it has; jam-packed with all kinds of gems, new and old. Aardvark has a great overall selection of mostly silver to modern-age stuff, however the books are very overpriced. Comic books, like other collectibles, hold value when people are seeking them and when availability is limited. Much of the inventory at aardvark is by no means rare or unattainable, with the exception of an arm-full of graded comics, autographed books and prints, and other random oddities. That said, the pricing and the expectations of the consumer to pay these prices, especially during current economic times, is unrealistic. Although the place is a small indie shop that needs the business, you still have to consider other people’s wallets. The fact that comics are, again, only worth what people are willing to pay should allow for more Flexibility on pricing and a more accurate target price to begin with. I’ll definitely be returning, but only when I’m looking for something really special when money is not an option. Good luck and take care!

Great shop! Prices are on the higher end like some other reviews mentioned but the selection is large and plenty of things you wouldn’t be able to find elsewhere.

A lot of comics new and old. Not enough CGC comics. Picture it as a winners clothing store but for comics. Spend enough time looking and I'm sure you will find something good.

Called the store to see if they had what I wanted, they said yes I get there and they didn't have it. Waisted my time it would of taken 30 seconds to confirm. Then I tried to salvage my time and make an offer on 60 comics priced between 3-5 dollars, he said no, without any consideration for my time he waisted. Whatever money he thought he was going to lose on 5 dollar comic he would of gained on a 3 dollar comic.. complete waist of my time without any care about his bad service.

Great selection of books and a friendly owner. My only gripe is that overpaid big time for some books. Some of his prices are kinda absurd. Fresh into the comic scene, and by not doing my research, I paid $60 for a Venom: Lethal Protector #1. The next day at my other shop, I got the book for $20 and realized my ignorance. Just make sure you look into the price of the book before you purchase it.

This store has a huge collection of old and new back issues even though from the outside it looks deceiving. Main downside is the prices for most issues are overpriced. Some comics that I own I was able to find for cheaper elsewhere. But for issues you've been searching for you might get lucky here. Still worth a trip if you get the chance!
