Food is amazing!Had the Ukrainian platter you can taste that everything is “homemade” and borscht soup, I never had it before, it was so good! Bread pudding was great to! Servers were very nice and friendly! Brought the meals out to the RV.Will definitely stop in again on my trips across Canada!

This place is amazing. I know nothing is ever as good as Baba’s home cooked food but this place comes so close. Eating here really felt like home. Oh and their made in house bread will make all other bread you’ve eaten taste like garbage, just the absolute best dinner buns I have ever had. I highly recommend getting in the car and driving out for a bite, it will most definitely be worth it.

I'm Ukrainian, was born and raised in Ukraine. I was extremely happy to discover this place on our way from Toronto to Calgary. I can assure you the food tastes like back home, authentic Ukrainian food that brought back so many good memories! Highly recommend to stop by at Sophie's and to order some Ukrainian food rather than grabbing something at McDonald's or any other fast food.

I will only give you an honest review!You get what you pay for, that is the type of restaurant this is. That is not to say you just drive by, the experience is well worth it! You’ll walk into a really quaint, really local and really peaceful restaurant. The decor is really casual but quite comfortable, it’s like a dinning room from the early 50s, very cool feels, you travel back in time! The server is super nice and polite, we were greeted right away. She gave us ample amount of time to look at the menus and gave us space to enjoy ourselves and our meals. The food was ok, the fact we walked out with full belly’s and a smile was enough for us.At the end the bill was under-charged and we went back inside to pay the difference. So the ladies (sorry we didn’t ask for names) offered to give us cookies for the road. Super sweet. The time we spent here helped us wind down from a long trip, it was a very enjoyable experience.You should go and support your locals! Even if it’s just to have a cup of coffee. Only 3 minutes drive from the Trans Canada highway. We would definitely stop back in if we ever passed the area.Unfortunately we couldn’t give 5 stars as the menu lacks a ‘guide’ sort of speak for vegetarians. There isn’t a huge selection either.Thank you so much for having us :)

Took my daughter there after riding this last weekend and was very disappointed in my meal. I ordered the cabbage roll platter, which came with three of the blandest perogies I've ever had, 2 of the toughest cabbage rolls ever, and kielbasa. My daughter had wings and poutine, she said hers was fine. I've been here before for breakfast and not had bad experience, so maybe was just an off day or maybe breakfast is better. But hands down worst cabbage rolls ever, can't believe they served them.

We visited Sophie's for the Ukrainian menu and what a treat! For appetizers, we ordered Perishky and Greek Perogies. The Perishky, my favourite, are buns stuffed with sauerkraut and the Greek Perogies, also very good, had a filling that was reminiscent of a spinach dip. The Ukrainian Plates were our main meal, which offered a taste of everything, and the Borscht was a standout for flavour. This was a lot of food, so we took home leftovers as well as a few items from the deli, including Pelmini that I'm looking forward to trying.
