I drove from Alburgh to Burlington to ask why I was being overcharged on deductions from SS. The clerk, who had gotten into a shouting match with previous citizen, told me he had no idea. He said it was an IRS issue and maybe it was because I sold a house last year. All of this information was incorrect. Drove back home and called appeal number, waited 45 minutes, discovered why added fee was included, told woman I wanted to appeal and she hung up on me. This is why our government needs to be brought down.

Due to an error on part of the social security employees here, I had to spend over three weeks trying to prove to them that I existed as a real person.That being said, they are doing the best they can with a really difficult bureaucratic system. Keep up the good work!

The office is very helpful, and the open door is very welcome. No appointments required, just get in, and get answers.

I understand the office is closed, however, I have been trying for 3 days to reach a person to assist me. I am on hold again today...so far 35 minutes. Unacceptable. They need more staff!

I called my local Social Security office after my bank accounts had been compromised. My bank immediately closed all of my accounts and opened new ones. The agent at Social Security had a very strong foreign accent and this kinda scared me, as the person that hacked my accounts did as well. , and I explained this to the agent. He was very understanding and patient with me. He handled all of my direct deposit requests in a very concise and professional manner. He had my issues resolved in less than 10 minutes.

No indication they were closed today. Online says they are open (just that the hours may vary) and there is no signs on the building or inside that indicate they are closed. You MUST have an appointment to come here. They are not accepting walk-ins (so says their signs).

Worst customer service ever!!!!!!! I called not too ago and was told they were open on Friday!!!!!!Sadly I went there on Friday as they said and the office was closed!!! Reached out to the 1800# and nobody could tell me why it was closed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I called SSA and they said you can walk in without appointment. I did not check on google but it is temporary closed due to renovation? But still, I went there without realising it was closed.The phone call is really hard to make. It took me 3 days, each day 45 minutes waiting time to get an agent.Personally think that the phone service should be improved by asking which local office we’re going and tell us whether it is open, closed or by appointment only. So we won’t waste our time to travel from a far place.Now I couldn’t get my SSN until the office is done.

I went in to the office to hand deliver a check for them so that I could get direct deposit. The goofball working there did not write down my account number correctly and it held up thousands of dollars of money for over a month. I had to call back another time and I spoke to a man who is very nice but I couldn’t understand him because of his accent. I called back later in the day and spoke to a woman who said she was going to fix the situation for me. I decided to check up on this to make sure there was follow through by calling the national Social Security office and found out that she did not do anything she said that she was going to do and my money is still sitting in techno space because of it. This person lied to me told me specific notes that she was going to write to help process the transaction faster. She didn’t even resubmit it I came to find out.This office made a clerical error and then they did nothing but make it more difficult for me to fix it this is unacceptable. You are better off waiting an hour on hold to talk to somebody at the national level and then call this local office.
