Quality products along with great customer service! Passed by the closing hour, yet being incredibly well served by kind, knowledgeable and accommodating personnel! What a great place to get your dream knifes at!

Everyone in the shop is friendly, knowledgeable and are passionate!Took the sharpening class and bought some stones and the sink holder. I love that they have many class options because many other places don't have classes as often. I ended up being alone so it was a private with Mekki!Class is pricier than other places that offer classes, however, you get 10% + 50$ credit so if you're planning on buying sharpening gear or a new knife anyway, this can make the class almost free and I'm happy with their prices and quality of knife sharpening gear. You may find cheaper elsewhere but it'll also be cheaper quality.If you want to get your knives sharpened here, also the best place in terms of price and service. They take a look at the whole knife and see if it requires additional work like thinning included whereas other places will charge. I believe they'll oil thr handle as well if necessary.Also got myself a beautiful petty knife and it cuts wonderfully.I find supplementing the class with the many knifewear videos on YouTube will help you get all the tips and tricks and the class helps solidify the learning and ask additional questions!

Great knife shop, a hidden gem on Bank Street. Fantastic customer service, it was clear that the sales representative is very passionate about knives, and provided detailed info about the craftsmanship, background, and even history about the makers. It was quite interesting to learn about the different makers. I love that they buy fresh fruits and vegetables for customers to try out the knives, had a great time there and spent about 2 hours on my first visit. Ended picking up two knives and a large cutting board. Would 100% recommend.

This is a really cool store!From what I understand, most or all knives are imported from Japan, and what they offer are knives of superior quality.They'll be happy to do a demonstration for you, or let you try the knives out for yourself.They also sell a few other items which are useful around the home. There's also a shaving section where you can purchase straight blades, safety and straight-edge razors, soaps and so on.I actually bought one of the razors. It cost me a good $110, but I figured it would serve me for life. Unfortunately, within two months the razor handle broke off from the top portion.I brought my safety razor into the store and they repaired it for me quickly. I was really happy with what they did for me, but I was not too impressed with the quality of metal used for the safety razor itself.A few weeks later, it ended up breaking again and I went back to Knifewear to purchase a smaller and cheaper one. So far, it's doing the job and hasn't broken!All-in-all, awesome store, awesome people! Their speciality is quality knives, and it shows!

What an amazing place. There are so many wonderful knives to glance at and choose from. The service here is excellent and they are more than willing to without any knife that you want to look at and test how it feels in your hands. So when the night speaks to you you know you have to buy it. They also offer many other unique kitchen items focusing on Japanese and Korean speciality items. Knife specialty boutique!!! #localguide

Took the knife sharpening class with Luca - great class, helpful explanations, and you leave with your own knives sharpened! I also bought a knife - staff very knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Lots of interesting kitchen gadgets and a solid variety of cookbooks. Highly recommend!

Such an amazing hidden gem on Bank street! I had the chance to attend their knife skill class on Saturday and it was such a great experience. In addition to learning various cuts/techniques we got to test a whole tray of knives - small, large and everything in between. The instructor made everyone feel welcome and got us all excited to chop stuff up. After the 2h course you also get to wander the store and all its hidden treasure. Everyone is extremely knowladgeable (and patient!)Defintely recommend a visit

A fantastic trip and experience. Chris walked us through and helped us select one from a dozen knives to suit us. We were also there for the Masashi Yamamoto to engrave the knife we bought. Fantastic experience, fantastic staff overall great place to go.

Great store. I am very excited to start cooking with these goregeous knives. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and kind. Jessie and Chris were very patient and thorough with me and my partner when we came to pick out new knives.
