Canalta Hotel

Good service is hard to find these days so we like to take the time to acknowledge when someone is giving outstanding service. Specifically Emily at the front desk. Very polite, helpful, informative and friendly! Hard worker and goes the extra mile to make you happy! We’d stay here again and hope she’s on shift!

Hot tub didn't work. Room was comfy though and we were fortunate to have a wonderful staff who went far above and beyond. Paula helped us carry stuff to our room, got us extra pillows kept coming to try and get the hot tub hot and helped show us how to turn off the thermostat that light up our room at night.

The hotel itself was fine.However, after I used my personal credit card for a personal stay, they then (months later) charged my personal card (instead of an employer credit card that was provided) when I stayed at the hotel for business. I never authorized them to charge my personal card and I had to go through the rigamarole of sorting it out. I asked them to delete my personal credit card information from their system and they assured me that they did.Half a year later, I don't even work for the same employer, and the hotel charged my personal card for a booking made by my old employer, that I had absolutely nothing to do with, that my name shouldn't be associated with in any way, and that I obviously did not authorize.I'm now in the process of trying to sort this, and a front desk staff member claimed to have no ability to issue refunds and that he would pass this information along to a manager, even after I made it clear, repeatedly, that I had nothing to do with the booking and did not authorize it. He did not understand the situation and I had to explain it multiple times.Spare yourself multiple headaches and unpleasant phone calls and stay somewhere else.Edit - I spoke with another employee who was nice and told me that I would be refunded and my credit card information would be deleted from their system. I've removed the most critical comments from my review as a result. But I still very much regret ever staying here.

I book groups regularly, so am very accustomed to working with hotels. Vicky was an absolute pleasure to work with, it was another level of customer service that is almost unheard of in these times. She is personable, passionate about her work, and a stellar hospitality professional. I would not hesitate to recommend.

I forgot my electric toothbrush charger in the bathroom and one of the employees (Vicky, I think) mailed it to me at no charge, even though it cost her $20. I was ready to pay for the shipping but she said Happy New Year"! I'm very impressed! No other hotel chain has ever assisted me in this way before. Many thanks! We will be staying at CanAlta's whenever possible in the future."

Wonderful room. Spacious. Clean. Quiet. Breakfast was great. Definitely recommend.

First time in St Paul and was not sure of what to expect. The hotel was really clean, the rooms were nice. The mattress was good as well. The staff are so friendly and always willing to help.

Great staff! Our room was nice clean and well maintained. Kids had a blast at the pool and games room. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing. Everything was amazing. The staff was more than accommodating for our hockey team and the boys had an absolute blast. Not one complaint cause they made it convenient for them to stay occupied. Thank you Canalta
