Cawthra Park
Great little walk in the woods, in the middle of the city. You can hear the QEW, but it's so shaded and feels so secluded regardless. Tons of parking on side streets off Northmount Ave

Danger place, trees feeling down, there is swamp and a lot of snakes. Looks like nobody's care about this park.

Peaceful, raw and the color!!!!I would ask that pet owners pick up your dog droppings!Be careful at dusk- coyotes in the Bush. Not sure who is cutting down trees but this is a protected wetland.

Always love being there, any season it is beautiful, and I think it is better than any therapy, just being around nature, it is healing and rejuvenated.

Great park to walk the dog or to just enjoy walking through the rustling leaves at this time of year. Few little bridges along the path make the walk a little ttle more interesting. Lots of dogs run off leash here. The signs are tagged recently by some troubled wannaba gang kiddo, but other than that, this park is a real little gem.A cozy chair keeps traveling across the woods, every week...so who knows, maybe this place is haunted after all. :)

Local spot seems exceptionally remote (even though it isn't.) Beautiful in Fall but be careful of the mud in places.

The Woods are excellent to walk through and there is a great feeling of wilderness. The path is marked by logs keeping the outdoors feel. If you need a drink of water or a bathroom break, the community center us nearby with all of those amenities available.

Cawthra Park
Large woods with spots that flood in early spring or after heavy rain. Good unpaved dirt trails to walk, lots of bird activity, especially along the east side. Jefferson's Salamanders are known to reside here and come out every March/April. The woods are peaceful except the northernmost 50 feet which is close to South Service Road and the QEW. Access paths off of South Service Road, multiple dead end streets to the west of Northmount Avenue, the school yard of Cawthra Park Secondary School and Cawthra Road. Parking off Cawthra Road at the Blythe Academy (tiny private school), south of South Service Road. Awesome place to walk your dogs and feel like you're far from the city. This place is a must see in autumn when the leaves change color! Best times to come are in early-mid spring and in autumn. Sometimes very buggy, lots of mosquitos during the summer.
