Helping Hands Doula
I used Helping Hands Doula for postpartum care, and WOW! It was absolutely amazing! I cannot recommend them enough for the support recieved to me and my baby I'm a very vulnerable time. The entire Doula team were so caring and you can tell they truly love caring for new mamas! My doula, Crystal, was an absolute dream, and a natural nurturer to my son. I got some much needed shut-eye, and for that I am so grateful! If you've been thinking of getting a doula, Helping Hands Doulas are amazing!

My family and I were so beyond happy with Helping Hands Doula. I honestly don’t think we would have gotten through the first 2 months without them. We had three over night doulas over the course of our time with them - Jessica, Amanda and Sharon. They were all beyond amazing, helpful and caring and I really felt like I would hand my baby over and get a good nights sleep. Every night that they came was a huge relief and they really helped us navigate life with a newborn again. When any of my friends ask me what my biggest tip is as a second time mom - the only tip I have is get a nighttime doula and use Helping Hands! This service was so wonderful and to far exceeded any expectations that we had. I would also like to add on a few occasions my husband had to go on somewhat last minute work trips and they were able to accommodate us for last minute care as well :)

This was a literal life saver for us. Pricey yes but Amanda and Sarah were absolutely amazing. Special shout out to Amanda she truely love her job and goes the extra mile to help especially when my 4 month old son had a fever. If I could go back I would have hired Amanda from day 1 of by son being born.Had a less pleasant experience with a south Asian lady. (honestly if I had her at first I would have asked for a full refund same day but Kristy made things right)

I found Helping Hands Doula postpartum services to be absolutely worth every dollar! As a new mom I honestly didn’t know what to expect but I knew I needed help with my newborn. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Kristi, Sharon and Amanda. It has been an absolute pleasure coordinating the services with all team members. We had mostly used the overnight care and Sharon was a pleasure to be around- she was supportive, resourceful and really got to know us and our baby’s needs. I would highly recommend Helping Hands Doula services.

A year late with my review but wanted to ensure I got my review in because Helping Hands Doula is that good. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Sharon and Jessica were so kind, supportive and instrumental in helping us navigate the early newborn days - from ensuring we were able to properly recover and sleep at night to tips on how to get breastfeeding started. We originally booked the Hug" package but ended up extending our support due to unexpected complications. Kristi was a miracle worker and was able to get us the support when we needed

We used HHD for our prenatal classes and it was the best decision! All of the instructors were so lovely and knowledgeable. We felt that they did a great job tailoring the classes to our specific questions but also covering all the basic knowledge even if you didn’t specifically bring a topic up. My partner was initially concerned that the classes would be boring and that he would be “lectured at”, but at the end said he loved that the classes felt casual and personal. He described his experience as not feeling like a class but feeling like you were having a conversation with a friend. Added bonus that we could schedule the classes when we wanted in the comfort of our home and were provided recordings to review the information again.

My son was born in March 2022 and I had hired HHD for their night services during the first 3 months of his life. I will forever be grateful of the help I received in that “first trimester”. My eldest was born in April 2020, a particularly difficult time for everyone, largely because we were in a lot of unknowns. And it was until the birth of my second child that I realized how much I suffered from undiagnosed PPA. When I was pregnant with my second, I was very anxious about the impending birth and fourth trimester “trauma” that I would experience again. Kristi did a prenatal call with me and reassured me that things may be different this time around with all the help that I was getting. She was absolutely right.I was blessed with two lovely doulas - Esther and Amanda during those 3 months. Esther was absolutely lovely. She had little ones herself so she was very in tune with how to take care of my little one. She also offered some very great suggestions on sleep and general care that worked so well in those first few difficult weeks.Amanda was my other doula for the majority of the time and she is absolutely exceptional. Amanda really helped me get through my first few weeks of what would have been “sleepless” nights that turned into “restful” nights because she was there to help with my son. I would always look forward to her arrival at 10 pm every night and even on the roughest of days, she always was able to put a smile to my face and I was able to go to bed happy and wake up restful. Amanda became someone who I could fully trust in taking care of my sweet babe and I knew he was in such good hands during the night. To this day, I inundate her with updates and she has become a friend.HHD really had made my first few months such a lovely time. I was able to truly enjoy my newborn. Most importantly, the help I received truly provided me with a lot of mental closure on a rough first birth experience. If every single birth and newborn phase was like this, I’d have so many children. Alas, we will be having puppies instead from here on out but thank you, HHD. I am truly, truly grateful for all that Amanda and Esther have done!

I booked Helping Hands Doula for birth support, and had a great experience with them during my pregnancy and my baby's delivery. Kristi and Jennifer were amazing as doulas, Giovanna was excellent and so dependable, and Heidi was generous with her tips and support. All of them are so knowledgeable, kind and caring. From the first conversation when I was just inquiring down to the last chat with them after I gave birth, they were so helpful, organized and professional. I'll forever be grateful to Jennifer for her calming presence and the emotional support she gave me during my labour in the hospital. The comfort and peace of mind my family got from HHD made the extra cost of getting a doula all worth it.

We absolutely loved having Helping Hands with us for postpartum help! We had a few ladies, but a lot of Sharon and Maureen, who were absolutely lovely and was so much relief to have someone come into our home in such a vulnerable time and provide so much support to our family and love our new baby as we do. Each of the ladies taught us something new which was so appreciated as new parents. We recommend everyone gets themselves doula support for helping with those first few weeks at home.

Engaging with the Helping Hands is one of the best postpartum choices I made. As a first time mum, I was debating between a traditional Chinese doula support and a team support like Helping Hands. Turns out Helping Hands suits my needs much more. A big shoutout to Sharon and Maria, as well as coordinators Giovanna and Kristi!A) Like a lot of my friends, I have baby blues at first, especially when my milk supply is low + am struggling to understand baby’s needs. They really listen to my worries and are very encouraging. They allow me to enjoy my initial parenting journey that I would otherwise miss outB) they “work themselves out of their job” by providing the much needed confidence that first time mum needs. They provide me with a lot of resources and help me work out plans on how to tackle baby issues after they leave.C) Lastly, and most importantly, a lot of gratitude to Sharon: No matter in good hours or bad hours, Sharon gently guides me to return to the present moment and to show affection to my baby. This is the most important takeaway of my initial parenting journey by far. It’s so easy to forget to show love and gratitude when you are overwhelmed with worries about the future and guilt about the past - esp when you are a first time mum trying to feed at 4am! But Sharon, in her gentle yet very effective ways, provides much needed reminders for me to embrace the present - and treasure every minute I spend with the baby (and with life!).Once again, thank you Helping Hands team for the much needed support you provide and I will not hesitate to recommend their service to any mums!
