Around 5:20pm on July 4, 2018 in the parking lot of Rona Embrun, myself and two others witnessed an accident involving a Instal-Pro employee and a crane. The strap wrapped around the sign attached to one of their cranes unlatched as it was being lifted off the flatbed truck; Instal-Pro employee undernether the sign standing on the flatbed. The sign fell directly on this employee. This man was struck by a large metal sign to his upper body, hit the truck, and fell off to the ground.Fellow workers rushed over to check on him and they determined with in moments that he was ok. He brushed himself off and hopped up on a ladder not even 20minites later. Myself and other witness reported this incident to the owner of Rona Embrun.I understand that Embrun is a small town. I understand WSIB can be difficult. But when a accident occurs on the job, no matter if it was major or minor, please step aisde and get checked out. No one should have brushed this aside like it was nothing.People. Do the right thing. Report accidents and don’t be afraid.
