Gon Bui Restaurant Bar

Food was delicious. We went as a group and ordered almost everything on the menu. The service however was definitely lacking. It took a little while to be seated even though the restaurant was not busy. They brought us the wrong noodle dish and forgot to bring our desserts that we ordered.

First time here with friends!Service = 4/5! The waitress was very friendly and helpful. She explained the menu well for us and also helped me, a vegetarian, with the dishes I can have.Food we ordered-Coco Curry Hong Kong (4/5) the curry sauce with the fried tofu was delightful! The tofu was soft and spongy. It soaked in the curry really nicely. I enjoyed this dish a lot and was tempted to order a second serving of it!VEG Poulet de Bang Bang (4.5/5) the fried cauliflower + dipping sauce combo was amazing! The batter was salty but it paired well with the maple mustard. I enjoyed these as well.Poulet de Bang Bang(4.5/5) according to friends were tasty!Calmars a-dores (4.5) friends enjoyed this one!Ha Gao De Fortune (2-3.5/5) Mixed reviews with this among friends so I can’t say for sure!Salade Papa-Yaah(4/5) i loved this salad! We asked for no shrimp so even without, it was delicious! Very refreshing and it’s so nice to have to cut the grease and creaminess of the other dishes we had! Great to “clean” the palate heheNouilles de Longévité (2/5) Friends said the texture of the noodles were weird. Soft and gummy.VEG Slurp it like Udon care (3.5/5) This dish wasn’t bad at all but it really was just cauliflower with curry udon. Maybe I already had enough of cauliflower from the other dish but it felt pretty simple. It was good and I finished it but I expected more!Chinese Broccoli/Gai L’an with mushroom sauce (2.5/5) This item was not on the menu at the time but was suggested by the waitress. It wasn’t anything special. It didn’t taste bad but it wasn’t fantastic either. We treated it like a palate cleanser, eating it between the heavier dishes. I wouldn’t order this again.Churro Canto (5/5)!!! It comes with 2 thick churros but shared amongst 4 people was definitely not enough. I have to suggest ordering 2 for 4 people! Honestly I feel like I can eat the whole thing myself because it’s that amazing!!Le Pandan-tif de Jade (2/5) It was okaaaay to me. We ordered both desserts; but for me, the churros completely overshadowed this dessert. It’s very light on the sweetness. I can see some people enjoying this. Personally I’m not a fan but it’s not horrible!Overall I ate well here!! We all did and I can see myself going back. There was one dish I didn’t get to try and it was the That’s What Cheese Said. They didn’t have it the day we went so hopefully it’ll be available next time!

I had abit of high expectations on this place but here's my review overall.This place is very nice, they have a big Chinese tree when you walk in, it's filled with greenery on the ceiling which is a nice touch. Also loved the bar, it's so preferctly designed.The service was okay, it took them also 20mins to come see us to order.We got a few drinks and I can say that the drinks were all amazing. The bartender was very skilled to make drinks here, I even ordered an off menu espresso martini at the end and it was one of the best I've had.The food was mediocre, we shared the bang bang chicken, the calamari, the pork dumplings,the cauliflower and the udon carbonara.The food was eatable but nothing wow or different which was a real disappointment.For dessert we got both dessert, the churros were really good and the lava galanga was rich in chocolate.I think the dessert was better then the food, I'm saying this being a salty food lover.Will I came back I'm not too sure, for drinks I definitely would because they were so good but for the food I don't think so.Also this place was so noisy, we went on a Friday night and it was pack

Gon bui is the perfect restaurant to share plates. The papaya salad is very tasty. The duck was invredible. Not chewy as people would think. Wish we had enough space to order more food. Ambiance was very nice!

Very cute place if you are looking for a Asian Fusion! I loved loved loved it. The food was amazing , the staff also! Henry was so nice to us and really gave us a VIP service.You MUST try this restaurant you won’t be deceived. Also make sure to reserve a table ahead of time :)

Tried the tasting menu for 2 and everything was delicious! We left super full. Drinks were also tasty and very interesting… surprisingly strong given the flavours.

Damn, this place was awesome. The decor is visually stunning yet subtle, which makes the atmosphere inviting. We were a group of four and practically tried everything on the limited menu. The food was great and very tasty, and the service was top-notch.

Went on a super busy day but considering it our service was amazing. Food arrived super fast and was so tasty definitely a must try if you are from Laval or around.

Friendly staff, fast service. Nice decorations but very little selection in the menu. If your looking for a quick date or catch up then this place is for u. For 2 person including 2 drinks and 1 appetizer, our total was $72 including tip. And the parking are very small, since it’s shared with other restaurants as well.

Gon Bui was such an amazing culinary experience! We had the tasting menu for 4 people at 48$/person and added 4 extra dishes from the regular menu since we were a group of 6 people, per the kind staff’s suggestion. The various dishes were so flavourful and complimented each other perfectly and the cocktails were so original. We were able to sample most of the dishes on their regular menu and were all pleasantly surprised by the twist on each dish, as this was our first time here. Don’t forget to reserve in advance because this place was full, and good luck finding parking in the small lot! Can’t wait to go back and try their brunch menu!
