West 5 Townhomes

Absolutely beautiful units, in an amazing and up-and-coming community! The perfect place to raise a family! Sifton and their staff are amazing!

Poor customer service, no one returns phone calls or emails. Why advertise rental units if you’re not going to follow through with potential residents? Stop wasting people’s time with your email blasts if you’re not going to answer.

We moved into our townhome in November and couldn't be happier. The whole process was seamless from the leasing documents to the actual move in day. During the pre-inspection some very minor things were noted and when arriving on move in day they were corrected! And I cant say enough about the snow removal! How fantastic it has been to walk out at 6 am in the morning after a snowfall and my walkway and steps are shoveled and salted and the snow plow crews are doing the roads! Thank you Sifton for letting us be part of the West 5 experience!

Left 6 voice messages regarding availability for their townhomes and never received a response. Sent two emails as well and nothing. Terrible customer service for a ‘high end’ and ‘luxury’ rental company. It’s slim pickings out there and this place was at the top of our list but definitely won’t be pursuing a unit from them now. If this is the level of customer service they provide to people trying to rent from them, I can only imagine how horrendous it would be as a tenant trying to get any maintenance done if there are issues.

For your own sanity, do not move in here.Here are the reasons why:Construction noise is very excessive, it lasts all day (starts at 7 am). There's a lot of beeping from construction vehicles, and at night they run massive industrial heaters (next to their unfinished buildings) that sound like there's an airplane humming noise right next to you (they're on all night and day, 24/7, BTW). This construction noise will continue for at least 3 or 5 more years because this company plans to build a lot in the area.Rent is expensive and rent goes up every year regardless of renewing your rental lease agreement or not.Hydro is considerable pricey because the furnace is electric. Even though they have solar panels on the roof you will still pay from $200 to $300, or even more (it depends on the season and your usage).The units are not that big, you could probably rent an entire house instead. The only appealing thing about these units is that they're new.A lot of tenants move out as soon as their lease runs out (after a year). So that tells you how awful this place is at the moment.

Ironically, most of the negative reviews are about Sifton not getting back to them, or the construction noises. The ladder of which I find the most ironic, seeing as when you move into the West5 you're very much aware it’s a developing area, and therefor will have construction....I have lived in the West5 for about two years now, we moved into the Emery II September 2020. The West5 is an amazing place to live. the rent is significantly cheaper than other new town homes in similar areas (feel free to check rent prices as of spring 2022) and Sifton last year didn't increase the rent at all! The area is beautiful, with 2 trails within walking distance (Kains and Warbler Woods) and Komoka Provincial Park a 5 min drive away, getting out in nature is easy. There are great amenities nearby, as well as parks for kids to play. I have never had a noise complaint, or any issues with the actual townhome itself that Sifton didn’t address within the week. With more of the community being rapidly developed, the West5 truly is a great place to live!

We've been living in a West 5 townhouse for a bit over a year now, and we are very pleased with everything. Sifton is an excellent rental company. They come when you call and they take excellent care of their properties. These are brand new units so we have had a couple of things that were basically growing pains with the furnace and the fridge and both times, we had someone at our door within hours. The units are nicely laid out and the colour pallette of the walls and fixtures is neutral but still tasteful. They are very well insulated so they are very easy to heat/cool and noise from neighboring units is not a problem.

These townhomes are absolutely beautiful. They are well built and you cannot hear your neighbour's which is fantastic. It is located in a great neighbourhood with many amenities nearby. Also a great place for families with a large park and great elementary school just down the street.

We have lived in West 5 for a year in a 3bedroom unit. We absolutely love it here. Great alternative to buying a house in this market. Rent is fair, Sifton is good to deal with when we need them, emergencies are dealt with very quickly. Our unit is beautiful and we love the area.

The Sifton rental town homes in West 5 are really great. This green and dog friendly neighbourhood is ideal for our needs. The Sifton staff were and since moving in have been fully attentive to help we needed with minor repairs and we are really enjoying the space.
