Woodfired Cafe and Bakecurry
We had a pepperoni slice to go and bought a half-dozen bagels. The slice was okay. I liked the dusting of cornmeal on the bottom but found the crust itself a bit limp and the sauce not very tasty. Certainly not worth the price when there are tastier and cheaper alternatives nearby. The bagels. on the other hand, where the best I have found in K-W to date (and my Polish-Jewish family were bakers, so I know real" bagels from what gets passed off as such when they are really just doughnut-shaped buns). First time ordering and also my last! I was craving a wood fired pizza and found this place online with good reviews and decided to support a local business. On arrival of my pizza it was soggy and not at all what WOOD FIRED PIZZA looks like - very disappointing.In response to the owner - go to a REAL wood fired pizza place and let me see if the pizza does that, pizza can be thin but your pizza was the worst I’ve ever had in my life!

Great experience here :) Very open environment with welcoming staff. Nice guy at the cashier was able to tell I was new and guided me with great information and a positive attitude. This review is written out of pure appreciation of seeing passionate staff, great food accompanied with affordable prices. Hope they never change! I am thankful for finding this local hole in the wall, place is beautiful, most things are self-serve; but the staff is extremely willing to help.

Popped in to grab a couple of coffees to take on a walk. There were lots of baked goods as well, so succumbed and bought a butter tart. It was, I presume, made there and was very good.The house roast coffee, although awarded bonus points for being fair trade, was sadly a bit watery and weak for my tastes. I would have gotten the dark roast, which one imagines would be a bit more robust, but they were out.Lots of parking out front. The only person working there was very busy serving customers, while still trying to bake, was very pleasant and efficient.

Tried their wood burning pizza last night for the first time and it was delicious! I ordered a 14” double pepperoni and my husband ordered a 18” veggie, they were huge pizzas! Certainly one of the best pizzas in the area. Would highly recommend!

The Good: The bagels were light and flavourful and absolutely covered in sesame seeds just the way I like them. Definitely the best thing there. The Sourdough Rye bread was perfect for toast or sandwiches, though sadly lacking in sourness.The Bad: The butter tart had excellent filling but the crust was thick and underbaked at the bottom. The ginger cookie was so under baked it fell apart in my hand. I tried a bit and the flavour was good but not as strong in ginger as I prefer.Store notes: I arrived at 10am on a holiday monday and they were already sold out of croissants and scones. Definitely go early next time. Staff were impatient despite a lack of line behind me and seemed annoyed by my questions and lack of knowledge on what was sold out despite lack of signs.

We had a highly disappointing encounter with the customer service. Upon arriving at the store around 6:45 am, we were disappointed to discover that there was no coffee available. To make matters worse, when we approached the cashier to inquire about the coffee, they were completely absorbed in a phone conversation, paying no attention to us whatsoever. This experience left us thoroughly dissatisfied.

Love the freshly basked items. Tried their pesto butter chicken pizza, it was good. It’s a very thin crust and not a lot of chicken, so the pesto flavor is overpowering. Not a great sitting area, but has free Wi-Fi. Very friendly staff. Will be coming back for the bagels and croissants.

Came across this place looking for a quick bite to eat. Pleasantly surprised. Any place that invests in a wood burning oven will have good food. Had the chicken curry pizza slice and it was very very good. the crust was nice and thin but with lots of flavour, the curry chicken was very tasty.. not overwhelming... just right.. i decided to try the veggie slices as well.. very very good. they also have bagels, bread and other baked goods... i will need to find time to come by this place again to try other things. The young man working there was very nice and provided great and fast service. they also have a great little patio with shade that many folks seemed to enjoy. Great little hidden gem.
