Cozy lovely little breakfast place in Port Hood area with extremely warm and welcoming hosts. Hearty breakfasts just the way you like it. The skurlies are must-try. Everything here is home-made.

We were shocked with this place - in both a bad and good way. Ordered the chicken waffles as the menu and these google reviews hyped it up. Received our meals and the waffles were definitely not home made, pale, no taste, tasted like freezer waffles and were also ice-cold. Waitress apologized and the customer service in this place is truly exceptional and we still left feeling alright about our experience here because of our waitress. Apparently the waffles have changed here and until they change them back... don’t order it!!Excellent baked goods here - we bought a blueberry pie, the carrot cake and some muffins which were all delicious. Hopefully our experience was a slip-up as most reviews here are very positive. Would return to give them another try.

We had never had a Flakie. Puff pastry with Strawberries and whipped cream. OMG!!! The coffee is great too. Lovely spot to stop.

Our best breakfast on Cape Breton. A bakery that serves their own delicious bread for breakfast. Good service, reasonable price -!: some authentic regional and Scottish recipes. Loved it. We wish we lived closer. Getting a selection of bakeries that all look delicious.

A quaint little bakeshop style restaurant with a healthy addiction to pigs

I think we were served frozen tater tots instead of home fries! They seemed deep fried and were hard as rocks :-(The skirlie was new to us, and is definitely an acquired taste. This is one of the few places open in the off-season, so it gets busy. The owners may want to update their website, as the prices posted are lower than the prices on site ($8.99 for classic breakfast on the website, $12.99 in the restaurant).Overall, a mediocre breakfast.

My friend and I didn't stop for a meal but we did get some sweets and we were not dissapointed! I had the nanaimo bar and the homemade strawberry flakie. My friend had the butter tart bar and two apple pastries deep fried! Absolutely heavenly and divine! Will be going back

If there were more places like this, the world would be a better place (at least for our stomachs). All day breakfast and brunch is always a score, and it's even better when the food is amazing. The chicken and waffles were great. The meat was crispy, juicy and seasoned and it seemed to be drizzled with spicy mayo. The egg on top of it was so perfectly done sunny side up that I didn't want to break the yolk. The Eggs Benedict didn't fall short either. The hollandaise sauce tasted the way hollandaise is supposed to, and the home fries were beautifully crispy. Both these dishes get a 5/5. The server also had an amazing sense of humor. I'd say this place is definitely a MUST.
