They saved my life. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staff who helped me. The atmosphere here is positive and most seem happy with their work. The infrastructure could be improved. One Window air conditioner per floor is not adequate.

Ok lots of bad reviews . Lets not forget those with a complaint will write more than a satisfied patient. My whole family went to that hospital including myself. I was and my family well treated the nurses are incredible. Improvement could be done that's in everything, but for the horror stories, well its always about waiting. Our system works but their's lots of sick people and not enough nurses and doctors. I've been to other countries and we're bless to have a FREE system like ours. so stop the bitchin about waiting.

My experience at Hull hospital is terrible. The staff, most are very nice, food is fine. I wish I could say it’s nice, patient friendly place but it depends. Day time is nicer, quieter,, just a great place to recover. Day time deserves at least 4.5 stars. But night. When visiting hours end. Many of the staff fail to care that many patients r tired, in pain, going through an awful time, got out of surgery, etc.they shout outside the patients door stories of who knows. Last night 2 talked loudly for 30 minutes minimum even tho their staff office ids next door. Why they need to shout at eat other when they r right in front of each other makes zero sense. The staff act like this is a frat house instead of a hospital. Is anything going to b done? No. I just wish they’d have some compassion and humanity. Oh, then u inconvenience them if u call to ask for something. I know I should not say this but given how bad it is here, I wish I’d held off until the issue that got me here ended it. I’m sooo tired, sad, and know tonight will b the same. [crying]

If you want to know how bad the health care crisis is look no further then Hull hospital. Multiply that if your a English speaker. The people who answer your call bell the majority of the time only answer it to be able to shut it off. Doesn't matter if it's immune suppressants on pain management. You will always be left in limbo and having to buzz multiple times over the hour to get a actual nurse.

Despite the crisis of the overall healthcare system the staff here are professional, respectful, and kind towards patients.

Day surgery. The nurses and staff are caring here. As I await my turn, I have observed a kind group of caretakers joking with each other and patients and speaking both English and French as the need arisesThe health system and lack of resources is likely to blame for bad reviews aside from some possible 'one-offs'.Overall this unit seems to do it's best to make their patients have the best experience in the circumstances.I'm English. I make the effort to talk to hospital staff in French first and switch to English when I have trouble expressing myself, which works well.

I have been seen by Dr Ian Barrette in emergency room at Hull hospital in Gatineau . To be honest, he is the BEST doctor I have ever seen in Canada. He is hardworking, kind, full of humanity, very intelligent, knowledgeable, respectful and he understands my health issues as if he was my family doctor for LONG time and even more. I got better after visiting him even it was very short time seeing him but he was able to diagnose my health issues professionally. He caught my health problem from its roots not its branches. He is really a miracle in time that is very difficult to find a doctor like him!!! May God bless him and protect him as he is very important doctor that all patients really need a doctor like him :))

Have to say it’s nice to have the option to have service in English. I moved to Gatineau 2 months ago and already have and appointment for a specialist from this hospital. Receptionist who called was very friendly and efficient. Specialist in outpatient clinic was amazing. Many times we hear about the bad but we are lucky to have good such service.

It is a place to torture people specially if you do not speak French. I called an ambulance when my pain was 8/10 they forced me to go downstairs myself and my pain went up to 10/10. The ambulance driver did not know I understand French and she told the nurse that she is acting and she is fine. After two hours they threw me like a garbage bag to the reception area. I told them I cannot sit on a chair and my pain is 10/10. She did not listen and forced me on the chair. I fell down on the floor which was full of blood and dirt but she left. Luckily another nurse saw me and helped me to see a doctor after 3 hrs of constant pain. Even the doctor was terrible but finally after 4 hours they got the MRI result and they sent me to Gatineau Hospital because of my situation. My life was in danger but luckily the staff in Gatineau saved my life. Go to Gatineau hospital if you are in pain and do not go here specially if you prefer English.
