I worked for 6 years in this company and I can say with confidence that this is one of the best companies in Red Deer for seasonal work. You can be sure of being busy from the beginning of May until the end of November, sometimes even before Christmas. Everyone is interested in how much money you can earn per month from $5,000 to $10,000 after paying taxes( the same as on oilfield). This is a great place to earn money for your studies or a down payment on a house in just one season. In winter, you will have the opportunity to try yourself in another job wherever you want and if you don’t like something somewhere, in May you can return back to the beginning of the season here (if you prove yourself as a good worker during the season, of course). An excellent team in which the authorities treat everyone equally, both to the employee and to the relatives of the authorities (I never felt infringed on my rights). If you need an urgent day off for important reasons away from home, the company provides a pickup truck to take you home. You can list a lot of positive aspects of working in this company, I can answer any question related to it if you ask. The only negative thing is that work in the summer can be hot, dusty, dirty and sometimes there is a long working day (but these are all trifles for me). Thanks to TBL Construction for hiring me in the spring of 2016 during the oil crisis (when oil fell from $55 to $20 per barrel) when it was hard to find any job (roads are always built in any economic crisis). Even though English was my 3rd language and I didn’t know it perfectly, sometimes I didn’t understand the first time and asked questions again, this company gave me a chance to work for them, I was very happy.

Back in August, I was on my way to golf at Fort in View Golf Course, just outside of Edmonton. My car was damaged after a TBL construction worker told me to take a detour to the golf course which was part of their construction site. My car sustained some damage driving through their site. I called the County and they passed my information onto TBL construction as they advised TBL are the ones who will take care of the damage as it is their responsibility to maintain the road in drivable condition. After many attempts to make contact with them, I finally did and had the unfortunate luck of speaking with an individual named Laverne. I have never spoken with someone who was more disrespectful than this guy, especially since he was working and representing his company. Laverne was very aggressive on the phone and demanded that I send him more pictures of the damage and that I bring my car for him to inspect. Laverne had an unprofessional tone; he used the F-Word in our conversation and ultimately hung up the phone on me like a child throwing a tantrum. I then called him back as I did not even get his name on the original phone call. While talking to him again, I agreed to send him more pictures. Long story short, I went through my insurance but TBL denied the claim and made up false facts. I would stay away from these guys. They are liars and are incompetent at their jobs. God help your customers if Lavern is the face of customer service.

Site safety, worksite managiement/policing Pertaining to roadwork is the worst I have encountered in 30 years of construction management.

They used our yard for parking their equipment on. At first I thought I would give them a five star rating. When they left they didn’t clean up the yard. They were back some time later and I asked them to come and clean it up. They came back and did more than they needed to. The workers were friendly and helpful but professionalism and safety seemed to be lacking on the work site.

This morning I got passes on the shoulder by one of their pickups. Unit 109. Then he swerved in front of me... Apparently safety isn’t something they take seriously.
