TORO Japanese Sushi
This restaurant is absolutely beautiful, it's got a comfortable but futuristic vibe, and the restaurant itself is quite large. The service is always excellent even though they have been short staffed the past two times I have gone (once when it was super busy on the weekend and once on a slower night mid-week). The servers are all incredibly polite and made sure we were enjoying our meal and made sure our beverages were full and empty dishes were cleared promptly.The food (both times) was excellent. Their a la carte options are all delicious, tempura lightly battered and fried perfectly with a great selection of items. Sushi all SUPER fresh and the rice was seasoned and cooked well. The pork cutlet and chicken karaage were cooked to perfection and accompaniments perfectly matched. The sleeper was definitely the Bao Bao Bao and would recommend this dish for sure to eat for yourself or share. Each option was delicious meat was super juicy. For something different the miso tangine was delicious and was also a healthy portion size and reheated nicely the next day at work!!

Really nice and cool atmosphere. The lunch combo was really good quality for money. The amount was decent and the service was attentive and friendly. They double checked the vegan options and were attentive with the dietary needs.

Very good restaurant, the interior is really classy and nice to look at. However, I was a little cold throughout my meal. I think the AC is a bit loud. My cocktail was good, well dosed, even a little too strong For me.It lacked a bit of freshness, but a good quality. We had a monkey head which was really very good and fresh, as well as some Gyoza. Very good too. Surprisingly on my receipt cocktail were two dollars more expensive than what was listed at the bar. But no problem I got the refund of the difference, it's really a good restaurant, me who used to go to sushi Story, I think they equalize both, except this one is more expensive. I will return without problem, the service was pleasant and the dishes very fast at the table. I recommend..

TORO Japanese Sushi
The only thing I want to talk about for this review is the only thing that matters - the steak tataki. It. Was. Amazing. Beautifully seared, smooth like butter, great flavour and a perfect cook. I finished it off with a pair of unagi nigiris and left I pressed. I highly recommend this dish and will definitely be back!

So strange to me that TORO never makes it into the conversation about sushi in Victoria because I honestly believe it is one of if not the best place in town. Great sushi, clean presentation, and fresh taste. Smooth service, and an interesting and very, very new dining room.

Definitely my favorite Japanese restaurant in Victoria! Love their Lobster Stone Bowl, Sashimi salad, Rainbow Roll, Salmon Oshi, Unagi Flame roll and Shoyu Ramen, but everything on their menu is absolutely amazing!

Amazing lunch here! The restaurant was very clean and welcoming, the staff were friendly, and the food was to die for. Some of the best sushi and sashimi I've ever had. The plum wind was also delicious! Can't wait to come back

We love this place with new lunch set. Good deal 22$ for 10 items. Also the environment also pretty cool. every time I got here I feel happy. Happy employees and great food.

First of all, DO NOT be fooled by the rating of this place.We had high hopes when we visited this restaurant for a nice weekend lunch, but we left still hungry and very disappointed with the quality of the food.I felt that everything was overpriced for a less than mediocre quality food. The sushi - fish in general, were not fresh and smelled fishy. And the rolls and other dishes were very saucy.The waitress service was good as they were friendly and readily available to refill our tea. However, because of the less than desirable quality of over-priced food, I won't be returning to this restaurant again.
