July 3rd 2023 Thank you for accommodating our party of 25 celebrating family visiting from BC and Ontario. Everything was excellent including our waiter (Ben) , the overall service, the food and the willingness to accommodate our needs Thank you for helping us make this a memorable occasion!

We really enjoyed the fun and comfortable atmosphere after a walk along pristine snowy shoreline. Great plaxe to stop and fill your belly! The kiddos had a wonderful time playing a game while they waited to occupy young minds. There were rubber ducks placed everywhere on a bit of a treasure hunt" for the kids. The seemed to really enjoy the sleuthing!Server was amazing. Food was great! Will be back!"

Staying in the Eastern Passage and stopped in for a casual dinner. They had great decor and our server did his best but we were disappointed in the food. Before we sat down we were warned of a 45 minute wait for food (appreciated the heads up) We wanted mussels but they were out so we ordered bacon wrapped scallops - they were $18 and seriously overcooked and super disappointing. My husband ordered the lobster roll which was soo tiny and I got the lobster mac and cheese. Not sure what kind of meat they had in there but it was not lobster.. it was our first dinner in the city and I wish we had chosen elsewhere.

Amazing food and very friendly staff. One stop restaurant to have food drinks and get some souvenirs of Nova Scotia. The patio overlooking the beach is amazing. Loved the fresh lobster roll .

My husband and I came to Halifax for a weekend this last October. We stayed in Fisherman's Cove, and were very excited to see Boondocks so close by.The Establishment itself is very warm and inviting, with lots of photo opportunities and even small knick knacks and gifts to be purchased for loved ones back home.The food was so so good. We ended up going twice. The first time, I ordered the fish and chips, and it was hands down, some of the best I've ever had. Crisp and fresh, flavorful. The tartar sauce was so good and the french fries were unreal. My husband got the fish tacos. They looked amazing but he scarfed them down before I got to have a bite. The second time we went, I was so enthralled by the fish and chips, I ordered them again, and again, I was blown away. My husband opted for the clubhouse and said it was the best he's ever had. It was the first restaurant we dined at when arriving to Halifax and I'm so glad that we were able to try it. We absolutely look forward to coming back the next time we venture out this way. The only downfall is that they close fairly early, I think it was 8:00 or something like that. Would have loved to be able to come back from a night on the town in Halifax and have a third round of fish and chips, haha! We will absolutely be back!

June 14 2:00pmThe front staff was really nice and welcomingThere was a server who wasnt so happy to be there, i hope she's okay.Fish & chips - the fish is greasy and soggy, chips are fineCalamari & chips - calamari is chewy/rubberyBlacked fish & tomato soup - was GREAT!Chicken strips & chips - the kid said it was good!Tables were way to sticky, we wiped ours with more than 12 wet wipes and they were still dirty and sticky. The girl who doesnt look so happy to be there was wiping the tables with what looks like soapy water and an old rag. The floor was also sticky.The duck hunt is fun!

I found this to be a laid back casual place to eat with a nice atmosphere and fun decor. We stopped in after hearing a friend talk about it. We stopped in for lunch a bit after they opened so there was no wait. There was a sign outside that warns you of a wait during busy times. Not sure why people complain about that, not too sure what they expect if a restaurant is busy.The food was good, I had the Mediterranean salad with shrimp and found it to be a nice size and enjoyed it. Two others tried their different macaroni, they said it was okay but nothing special. My husband had the chowder and poutine which he was happy with. I tried a bite of the chowder and it was really good, almost wished I had a bowl myself. Waitress was nice and attentive. Overall it was a nice lunch.

Waited almost an hour before being served, then we asked when our order would arrive....an additional 10 minutes. Sorry, we had to leave for our next destination. People that arrived after us were served, had eaten and left. It was as though we had been forgotten. Menu looked good, but, really, two chowder and side salads shouldn't have taken that long. Perhaps short staffing was the issue?

This was the first visit to boondocks for me. We were seated and as we waited for a server, we noticed that the restaurant was not very busy and there seemed to be lots of staff on hand. Unfortunately for some reason we seemed to have been overlooked and or forgotten about even though we were setting in a high traffic area with staff members walking past us about every 10 to 15 seconds. After about 10 minutes I watched as a couple was seated to the table next to us and within 2 minutes they had a server taking their order.This was enough for me, and as I was leaving I ask a staff member to see the manager. Well... it was clear to me that there was no manager to speak to as 4 staff members were looking at each other wondering who to get. I can't comment on the food as it was clear they didn't want to feed me!I WILL NOT BE BACK !!PS. Went down the road to Pilots Pub. Great food , fast friendly service !

We had a wonderful experience.We had company from Ontario and wanted to be by the water and good seafood.I had the fish tacos (pic) and the fish n chips were enjoyed.Our server was great.I would definitely go back.
