** WARNING! AVOID THIS PLACE **The only good thing about this place is the location, other than that this place should be shutdown by the Montreal city hall! This so-called 'hostel' is the worst I've ever been in my 12 years travelling worldwide! The rooms can be easily accesed by anyone from the street, you have a locker but that's it as for security, I really didn't feel secure at night. There is only one bathroom for the whole place and no division between toilet and shower(Very disgusting), the check-in is a nightmare!!! I had to wait for 3 hours to get a bed and they charge you for absolute everything. If you are traveling solo and have the expectation to get a hostel atmosphere to meet people, this is not the place, you will feel like you are in a refugee concentration camp.If you read this and still want to stay at this place please DON'T EVER PAY WITH CREDIT CARD The worst part is that if you pay with credit card they can overcharge you whatever amount they want, they charge" taxes that even surpases the amount of the reservation. In my case they double charged my CC and took months to get that amount back. They don't provide receipts or anything as proof that you actually stayed there.As recap this place is disgusting

UPDATE: the manager will not respond to messages and have purposefully 'redacted' the contact email below to appear to be providing contact details, but they are not. They continue to lie and have blocked my number. To this date we haven't received a refund or compensation for the hundreds of dollars we had to spend due to their cancelling of our booking on the spot.A disgrace. We arrived for check in at 8pm as per the guidance on a sign in the common area and there were already over 10 others waiting. The Owner/Manager refused to see us, stayed in their quarters claiming that they had 'suspected monkeypox' and told everyone to go away, we could not stay there. He ignored phone calls, was extremely rude to guests over WhatsApp and tried to claim at one point that we had no booking at all (?) He had not told any of the current guests to leave, just that everyone who arrived on a Friday night on labour day weekend had to fend for themselves. He refused to offer alternative accommodation or any kind of assistance whatsoever and to date has not refunded any money. It is beyond belief how they can run the place without thinking of calling for someone else to keep the place running if the owner is unavailable. Even if they felt the need to stay in their quarters they could have booked us all a place to stay. Guests had to book emergency motels/taxis 20km away, one had to sleep in their car....we ended up walking 30mins in the middle of the night to a hotel at a cost of nearly $600 to replace our two nights booked here.In addition, when we arrived early in the afternoon for bag drop we could just walk inside, no security, no staff, the dorm rooms were all unlocked and all the bags were just sat in the common area. Avoid at all costs.

We where to stay 15th of June. The hostel cancelled our reservation on the 14th during Grand Prix weekend leaving us high and dry for accomodation not only that but they charged me the 14th over $2,000 and I'm still waiting on the credit to my Visa, it's now the 26th June.Grahame Freeland

I booked a room with this hostel, and then had to cancel so I messaged them and they did not respond. Then I called and talked to the owner and he said I only had one bed and not the five which I had booked. I said I needed to cancel then and he said that was fine and he cancelled my booking. I asked if I would be charged for the room and he assured me I would not be. Then he charged me 500 dollars anyways. I called many times and he would not respond to my phone calls or messages. Basically he lied to me and stole my money, and then gave my room to someone else. I am a single mom of three and had saved for 6 months for this trip but the owner did not care. The owner is a terrible person, don't book here.

Horrible experience. we booked the 2 beds months in advance since we knew it was F1 weekend. the week of, we received an email saying there would be an additional deposit when that wasn’t mentioned beforehand. being desperate since it was a busy weekend , we were ok with that. the second we received the email, we gave them a call to confirm everything . to our surprise , the man over the phone couldn’t find the second bed we reserved in his system. he directed me to his email for the correspondence leading us to never hearing from him via email again. the day of we decide to arrive extremely early to hopefully figure something out. upon entering the hostel, it seemed very quite and there were only a few people there so we remained optimistic. after a very unprofessional conversation with the owner , we personally took a look at his system and weren’t surprised to find that we were both in fact in the system (so there was really no excuse). he told us that everything was going to be figured out but just in case it wasn’t , he was going to contact us by 2pm (4 hours before check in). so we decided to go about our day , and 2 pm rolls around with no call so we assumed everything was fine but by 3:30 we receive an email saying our booking was completely cancelled. thankfully we booked travellers insurance so we were able to be relocated and he mentioned it would be paid out of pocket on his end. this was extremely odd to us since that wasn’t the case at all and expedia was the one to cover it for us. so after 3 hours of dealing with the very patient lady at expedia, we still haven’t heard from him with any apologize or compensation and throughout the whole time he managed to put the blame on us somehow. overall, do not book here unless you’re ready to have your time completely wasted and are ready to deal with guaranteed complications (obviously there’s a trend since every review seems to have the same issue)

Do not ever stay here! Our experience started off with paying $50 for our driver to be one hour late. We arrived at our hostel to find our washroom was crowded with the shower not having any division from the toilet so the floor was wet and so was the toilet. There was no soap in the washroom during covid!There was a drunk man who was there the two nights we were.Despite our complaints to the manager about the drunk guest banging on the window of our room for 30 minutes, the manager permitted him to stay. The manager did not follow up with us about our experience, but left for bed. We tried leaving our room and the drunk guest threatened us (no doubt because we complained about his violence.) We left that same night - in the middle of the night - the second night of our eight night stay. We slipped out when the guest was puking in the washroom. We were not reimbursed for any of the rest of our six days! We paid $591.02 for two people in a four bedroom mixed dormitory. It is not safe for anyone and deplorable conditions!

Hostelworld seems to overbook this place so you might end up sleeping on a couch in the common area. I was charged extra because I showed up at 11:30pm, but I was happy to get a bed. The owner had boxes full of Costco muffins to eat. Seems to be one guy running the place, so expect some communication and organization imperfections. I played music with a nice man who spent nights in a hammock on the front porch. It's pretty small, so there's plenty of opportunity to get to know other travelers.

A friend’s cat was stolen off the street and was found being kept in a room at this hostel (seen through a window from an alley).Manager was not cooperative in helping retrieve the cat, it was a very stressful situation.Cat was eventually rescued. The room he was rescued from was messy, like a hoarders room, and didn’t seem to be a room that would actually be rented to hostel guests. This leads us to believe the manager was the one who took the cat, and is the reason why they were not being cooperative in returning the cat.Horrible experience, and probably a safety concern for anyone considering staying here / giving their money to this establishment.

Horrible experience, we had done the booking a week before and they cancelled our booking without telling us, when we reached there, owner said your booking is canceled, I sent you emails but due to technical error couldn't go through, I mean he had the error for whole week, we had to struggle a lot to book another place and had to spent more money. Please beware of this hostel. Owner instead of sorry said you guys can leave my property I don't want to kick you out- exact wordings, Pls don't book this place.

We had booked 7 beds for seven people at this place and the owner booked one bed for seven people and was not even cooperative and told us to get out of the place and was very arrogant and egoistic. Our whole plan were changed because of his mistake and he was not even sorry for his mistake. Do not even try to book your place in this hostel.
