Really enjoyed the food here! Their oxtail plate was huge and very affordable items. The patty's were nicely filled and flaky. I think they do a great job and have a lot of regulars that come by to grab their favourites. Definite comfort food and more of a relaxed and very casual dining. The commercial area has a bunch of goodies so it makes for a nice day of eating and supporting local!

Being very honest, I haven’t been to the Caribbean so i cannot speak of authenticity but, the goat curry tastes more like authentic South East Asian style goat curry than any Indian or SE Asian restaurant in Vancouver. The oxtail was succulent and to get both in a lunch combo made it an amazing deal. It’s a hole in the wall, mom and pop kind of place. The customer service was poor but the food was fantastic (otherwise for food alone 5 stars). I can imagine going here repeatedly.

I am no expert on Caribbean or Jamaican cuisine, but I personally really enjoy the food served here. Riddim & Spice is a humble, family-owned restaurant, with a simple menu full of flavour — especially the hot sauce (that’s technically not on the menu, but super delicious and intentionally served on the side since it’s seriously hot.)If you like eating meat off the bone, I recommend the oxtail and goat curry. Add a patty or two to your order and you’ll be set with a full feast!

One of Commercial Drives best Gem! Food deliciously prepared by the Legendary Mr. Curry and served by very friendly staff! The owner is a great guy, who loves his customers and makes a point of connecting with them all as they come through the door! They've been around for nearly 30 years and I hope for 30 more! Cheers Andre!

Well, that was massively disappointing. You can see in this picture, a regular sized dinner plate. The top right is 3 chunks of goat, maybe 1” around each. Then a mountain of rice, delicious, but I didn’t want a huge plate of curry rice. Also the side salad is repulsive and frankly embarrassing.I saw a ton of 5 star reviews, and a peppering of very negative 1 star. It seems to me they don’t care about takeout or delivery orders. Maybe the food is better in person, but this being considered a worthy dish to send out is all the information I needed. Also ordered a side of plantains. One was so over cooked it was hard to bite through, the other not so bad. Lacking flavour. The only reason I gave 2 stars, is the flavour of the 3 tiny bites of goat were very tasty. They obviously know how to prepare some food, but care very little if at all about customers.

So I very much enjoyed this spot!I tried their curry goat and oxtail and their coconut bread, all so delicious and i found the portions to be well sized and so so deliciousTheir fried plantains were a bit drier than I’ve ever had. There were four pieces.I was especially thrilled to see that I have a couple dumplings100% coming back

Edit: Came back for dinner a few weeks after our first dining experience, and were disappointed with the service (which was only passable the first time). The food is still absolutely delicious, but the first time we ordered the large jerk chicken and it was a half chicken essentially. Breast, thigh and leg, great flavour and portions. We could barely finish. Tonight it was 2 leg/thigh pieces, and small ones at that. We asked for no salad, and got salad to boot. Last time we asked for gravy on the side so the server gave us that but it was also all over the chicken but we took it anyway.I asked why the change in portion/meat type and was told if we want another piece it's $6. She just wasn't getting what we were saying...same server who didn't get the gravy right last time unfortunately it just seem to be the way she works. We heard her asking the kitchen about the meat portions, then something about so it's always been that way" - but she didn't do us the courtesy of coming back to tell us the answer. Really disappointed overall
