Restaurant L'Oriental
We live two hours away from Caraquet and we (hubby and I) were at a work conference in Caraquet recently. Tried this place one night and honestly, it was one of the best Chinese restaurants we've ever been to. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. The waitress was excellent. Too bad it's 2 hours away we would go there often.

My fiance and I love the Chinese food at L'Oriental. When ever we're in Caraquet we make sure to grab some take out. Super delicious, never feel bloated after your meal, friendly and courteous staff who always have a smile. The pictures here are our order (dinner for two 2eggrolls,2 wontong soup, 16 chicken balls(choice of garlic spare ribs instead of chicken balls), full plate of chicken fried rice and full plate of chicken chow mein) which was all under $40. Amazing food, Amazing staff and awesome price. I'll keep going back as long as they are open.

I have been eating in Chinese restaurants in many places around the world from Dubai to Montréal and when I order Chow Mein, I expect a dish of egg noodles, vegetables and (depending if there is a meat option), there might be beef, pork or chicken in the mix. At this restaurant, when I ordered the beef Chow Mein, I got a pile of cabbage with a few pieces of meat over it! No noodles at all! When I complained that this is not the ordinary Chow Mein I am used to ordering many times before in many restaurants inside and outside Canada, the answer came first that this is how we serve it and then another lady from the staff came, saying we apologize, but we can’t return your order and that someone at the kitchen told her that yes, the chow Mein is served with noodles usually but not here!!! They only offered to bring a bowl of dry noodles and put the other dish over it and when they did that, the taste was horrible! A very bad experience for sure.

Great little spot. Staff are friendly and helpful. The buffet was good. Refilled often. Reason I didn't give 5 stars was I would have liked to have more veggie options as there was only one and it was cabbage. It was tasty but not the usual veggies that you get elsewhere.

Excellent food!!! We got take out, order was ready at the agreed time. Very reasonably priced for the quality. Whole family loved it. We really appreciated everything! Great place.

Medium priced, well flavored food, a bit heavy on the seafood side but taken into account we are on the ocean that should be understood going in. Staff was cheerful, energetic and willing to serve and please. Clean restaurant and pleasant atmosphere.

Not a buffet anymore.Combo number 7 is huge with sufficient variety for 2 people. Plus it tastes just like a buffet. Add a soup to complete.

Honestly the food if one can call it that was VILE. That was not Chinese cuisine at all! I typically give a place 3 goes…. Nope never again. If you do go prepare your pallet for zero taste and the weirdest version of chow main I’ve ever had… I left my plate and wasn’t even asked why. Staff were ok yet inattentive to my elderly in laws.
