At the Elizabeth Fry Society of Mainland NS we work to house and support some of the most vulnerable women and girls in the province. This past summer, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, we worked closely with Werkliv to house three vulnerable, homeless families in safe, secure duplexes in a fantastic neighbourhood. Werkliv staff were tremendously helpful and compassionate. They responded quickly to all inquiries, maintained the buildings perfectly and worked to make sure the tenants had all the items they needed to be comfortable. In particular, Maggie Terrone was fantastic to deal with as she was caring and compassionate in her approach and extremely reliable. A further benefit from working with Werkliv, was that they went the extra mile and offered some of our clients employment opportunities. This was a wonderful experience for all involved and we truly hope to be able to continue to collaborate with Werkliv in the future!

Werkliv Werkliv Werkliv, no it's not a typo . I will say it Again Werkliv.2020 was not a very kind year to many , myself included.My year began rocky from finding out that I lost a friend in March , while I was grieving that loss , covid 19 decided to stick out its ugly head and really affected our daily lives as we knew it.While I was dealing with a loss of a friend and Covid 19 , my family fell apart and I found myself not knowing where to go or where to begin in trying to find a home, for me and my 3 daughters aged 15, 13 and 6.An organization that knew about helping marginalized people got me connected with Werkliv and I was afforded a 4 bedroom flat for me and my 3 girls at a fraction of what it would have normally cost me, I can not begin to tell you how grateful even today to have been given this second chance in finding affordable housing.I am a tradesperson and handy and a people's person , so I saw the importance of giving back so I extended an offer of keeping an eye out in the buildings that I was afforded, by doing light duties around the buildings , I got to know management rather quickly , and Werkliv management went above and beyond to make sure that the tenants are well looked after and had comfortable living in their appartments.Management was very accommodating to all the tenants and treated everyone with utmost courtesy and respect.Even to the point on making sure that people who did not have furniture were provided with somewhat furnished apartment.I myself had just gone through a separation and had no where to go , Werkliv welcomed me with open arms and offered me a furnished apartment for me and my girls at a very reduced rate.My 3 daughters and I will forever be grateful.I would highly recommend Werkliv as I noticed it to be a company that puts people first before profit , and this is a very rare thing to find in a company .Management attended to tenants in a respectful manner all around .In summary if I was asked to summarize my experience with Werkliv , I don't think i would be able to sum it up in one page.Professional, Courteous, Caring , Generous equals WERKLIV.

Werkliv apartments are the perfect choice for students, young professionals and first-time renters. After a year of living in a university residence, I wanted to break out of the McGill Ghetto bubble without having to worry about notoriously sketchy landlords or run-down apartments. Even the cost of furnishing a unit was quite daunting to me at the time. Werkliv helped me overcome all these potential obstacles, offering a wide range of affordable apartments across the downtown/Plateau neighbourhoods to fit a variety of lifestyles. Communication is clear and transparent throughout their rental process. In my two years with the company, they also frequently stood out from other landlords by providing homecoming gifts, perks and social events for tenants. Essentially, Werkliv combines the services and resources of a large rental agency with the personal touch of an in-house landlord. I would highly recommend the company to any student currently facing the same situation I did.

I lived in a Werkliv apartment for two years and I would highly recommend it! Not only did they provide a beautiful furnished apartment, they also made the renting process easy for first-time renters. Everything was clear and transparent. Anytime we had maintenance issues, Werkliv responded right away and took care of it. It was a great experience!

The management can be purposefully unresponsive and inefficient in conducting repairs etc. Some of the electricity sockets didn't fit plugs in them or simply didn't work, as well as a number of other faults with the apartment that clearly indicate poor construction work and cutting corners. Rooms are ridiculously small. Would not recommend.

I lived in a Werkliv apartment with 4 of my roommates and it was a really good experience! The building I lived in was a converted mansion to apartments so it had a lot of character but with brand new amenities. The apartment was VERY clean which is hard to come by in Montreal and the decor and finish of the apartment was really nice and unique. You can tell they put a lot of effort into the design and it paid off. The management was also always available to answer any questions or concerns! If there was anything wrong at all they would send someone right away. Plus the rental process is smooth. It was one of the highlights of my time in Montreal.

I didn't have the opportunity to experience their renovated units as I was leaving Montreal shortly after they bought the building I was living in, but I did live under Werkliv's management for a few months during the transition period. I found them to be professional, accountable, and accommodating. From what I saw of the restorations they were doing, they maintained the charm of an older classic apartment building while incorporating a clean, modern look.
