AYTT honestly changed my life in 2008. I had been practicing privately in my home since 1994, and although 14 years with books and videos as my educators, provided me with the basic “how-to’s” of postures and a little philosophy… I had no idea how being part of a “yoga community” would affect me. The experience of all that is yoga becomes amplified tenfold when surrounded by others on a common path. I wasn’t looking for ‘physio yoga’ or ‘gymnastics yoga’ … I longed for the authentic, ancient practice. After assessing many other wonderful studios in the area … when I met Jody, I knew I’d found my mentor. Plain and simple… she is the real deal. And I haven’t looked back since. Today I can’t imagine my life without yoga, and I am forever filled with a deep respect and love for Jody Myers and Silver Frith. I highly recommend AYTT for anyone feeling that natural attraction to becoming an instructor.

AYTT was my answer to yoga teacher training in 2005. I'd only been doing yoga seriously for a few years, but I understood that I needed this first training to be deeply personal for my development as a teacher. I wanted it to be with just women, small and in nature. Jody and Firth were able to reach in for all that we each individually needed. I never felt judged or competed with like I had in other studios. They planted the idea through lived experience that yoga in its purest form was to be shared. With the confidence I gained in my training, I started my own studio in Montreal which I ran for 8 years. Relocating to the UK I taught teens and staff at the high school I worked at. I continue to teach weekly classes at 63 in the Laurentians mountains of Quebec. AYTT, so much more than learning the postures.

The best thing I ever did in my life was to take the Yoga teacher training offered by AYTT. The teachers were well trained, very knowledgeable, had many years of teaching experience, enhanced their knowledge with continuing education, and lived Yoga. They walked the talk" and they held the space when we needed them. What I really appreciated about the training

This is where the foundation of my yoga teacher training came fromBack in 2014. Almost 8 years later i now have between 700 to 1000 hours in teacher training and have taught thousands of classes, I teach 8 classes a week in my home studio and teach 3 & 4 year olds also! It is my calling for sure and starting with this foundation in the Kripalu lineage played such a huge part in making me the teacher I am today. I am so glad I chose to take my 200hr YTT with AYTT, I had to drive over two hours every month for my training but it was so worth it!!!! The depth of knowledge and the true sisterhood has stayed with me since. The week retreat to close our training has changed me forever, the silence and the self understanding I gained from that experience couldn’t be compared to any other trainings I’ve taken since. Aytt helped me to created a solid foundation on the core kripalu principals of yoga that I use in each and every class I teach. So grateful.

Namaste! I have been a yoga student for over 30 years and a teacher for 10. I am also a social worker and have developed my yoga teaching in the areas of trauma, depression, anxiety and mindfulness. As part of my teacher training, I turned to the Atlantic Yoga Teacher Training, as it fit with my previous Kripalu yoga teachings.. For me the focus on mind-body awareness using gentle cuing supports students to move into and relax into their postures. This style of yoga also supports student awareness as you bring in the breath, relax into the posture, feel or notice the sensations of the mind-body, watch what arises, and allow the posture and sensation to unfold. You always have the choice to move out of the posture and find another one that is more suited to your mind-body needs. The teacher training offered me an ashram experience and increased my understanding of asana, pranyama, yoga nidra, ayurveda, anatomy, and the traditional teachings of yoga.I am a member of the Kripalu Yoga and Ayurveda Association, along with the International Association of Yoga Therapists. This training gave me a strong foundation that I have carried with me into my multiple trainings I have taken around the world in various ashrams and yoga studios with teachers who are also grounded in a traditional approach which support mind-body and spirit. In Yoga, Janet McGeachy, MSW, E-RYT

It is a privilege for me to offer a testimonial for the Atlantic Yoga Teacher Training program. This program is offered by qualified, compassionate, and well-informed facilitators in the teachings of Yoga.I had been dabbling in the physical practice of yoga and decided to certify as a teacher. On my very first evening, 22 years ago, I immediately grasp the understanding that yoga is so much more than postures, and I never looked back. The AYTT program is based on the teachings of the lineage of Swami Kripalvanandji, best recognized as Kripalu. After more than 3000 hrs of learning and teaching, I try not to be dogmatic, and I am open to all teachings. I believe that all have some point of interest. What holds me closer to Kripalu is that the teachings and practices are based on that meaning of the name Kripalu “ gracious and compassionate”.As a past Chairperson for the Atlantic Yoga Teacher Association and director of the Yoga Atlantic Conference, my experience of working with multiple teachers and presenters, the ones from the school of Kripalu put into practice their teachings. They walk the talk. They were easily accessible, cooperative, inclusive, compassionate, and practice Seva (service to the community). They had a side that made you comfortable in their presence. The intensive 11 days is what makes this program so special. You put in practice all that you have learned in a safe and non judgemental environment with peers that you have been learning and practicing with. It's the part that brings it all together. My very favorite part. This is what you will get in this teacher training program, these teachers, and much more.I can highly recommend AYTT.
