Explore & Discover Child Care Center

This centre is busy and in high demand for a reason. Bursting at the seams for the activities and programming they offer. Sometimes they take the groups for walks 2x per day, rain or shine and snow and lots of outside activity in the yard. The care staff must be absolutely exhausted after their days and as parents it can be easy to forget that they care for so many more kids than just our own, yet do their best to be attentive to each of their individual needs.If you are new to the centre and looking at reviews, ask around the community and school staff as well. There are some great options in Hinton and overall Explore & Discover is such a blessing to have here. If I could offer any criticism it would be staff turnover. We have lost some amazing Miss's that our kids have grown to love but that is life and kids will always have new instructors through school. Again I trust that they do their best.To address the negative review from Julia below. Registration is your responsibility. How could you expect the owner to have time with all of the staff, children, government requirements and facility needs at the center plus your inability to figure out your life for you. I would be frustrated and short with you too! The entitlement is ridiculous. Last to help and first to complain.

There are a few staff members who have been there since my child started- they are warm, caring and dedicated. I prefer the structured environment over a day home; I feel my child is receiving ECE instead of just playing independently or being put in front of a TV.

Rant to the explore and discovery daycare manager. Rude to talk to, says she doesn't have time to answer questions or help with the registration. Ok so I did the registration, everything was kosher then come time for drop off and her attitude is through the roof towards me, she didn't call me back yesterday to confirm like she said she would so of course I'm a few minutes late this morning after confirming.Then gets mad at me for not having an epipen for her reaction to pears, it's not a required prescription first of all.Then closes and locks the door on me. Like what? Now you get my subsidy payment for this month and she hasn't even gone 1 day?!Avoid this place like the plague!

I've had nothing but good experiences at this centre. Owner is caring, respectful, and always there to answer any questions. Staff are very caring and attentive.
