It is incredible how a series of bad experiences can lead to extreme frustration and total disappointment. We called ahead of checking in to confirm when we could check in, and we were advised to come in around 3:30 because we have a baby. Once here, they said we needed to wait. Waited 32 minutes and then everyone that came after us checked-in and we ended up with one of the worst rooms in their hotel. The none diplomatic person that took care of us was visibly upset about my comments and feedback and simply argued that they were understaffed. On top of that as soon as we walked in our baby found a tissue paper full of blood on the floor. What a way to ruin a weekend getaway for someone, when all we were trying to do was to make my mother's birthday a special one. I am a fair person and I invite you to look at my over 500 reviews on Google. I use this tool as a way to provide feedback to businesses and support them. They told us a manager would come see us but we waited another 20 minutes and no one came, then we ran into her into the hallway and she said she was in the middle of a meeting and that she would come see is first thing in the morning. No apology whatsoever, and it is clear they do not respect the time of their guests. Not to mention that their meetings are more important than their guests. They have great infrastructure but lots of work to do with their customer service and processes as they directly affect guests. I hope they can turn things around. I would advise the owners for more training for their employees. Maybe more to come on this review. We will see.

The front desk service was good, the room was nice, the location and views were quite nice. Unfortunately the dinner restaurant is horrendous! We had a dinner reservation for 6:50, took them until almost 7:30 before seating us (not because it was busy but because they had to set our table and we literally watched staff just standing around apparently incapable of knowing how to put on a table cloth). From there, it took another 20 minutes before getting water and never again getting a refill even after asking twice and having our empty glasses sit on the edge of the table. We never even got a cocktail menu. Our food was completely forgotten about and when it did eventually arrive it was some of the worst food. The mushroom appetizer is basically mushroom soup (don’t get this!), the med-rare steak arrived very well done and fatty, the vegetable lasagna didn’t even have cheese on top and there were no pine nuts to be found (the ingredient that is mentioned as what makes their lasagna unique). If it wasn’t so late in the evening and there had been somewhere else to get food, we would have left. This is NOT fine dining — instead, it was the most disorganized restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Would not recommend, save your money (it’s expensive) and go anywhere else to eat. Even though the hotel is okay, I would stay elsewhere based on the overall experience. We go to Waterton often and thought we would try somewhere new, disappointing to say the least.

It's well located in Waterton Park AB. With lovely views. The north facing rooms have lovely mountain and lake views and a great view of the Prince of Wales from the balconies and terrace. The south facing rooms have lovely mountain view as well. We visited in March and nothing much happening in this southern Alberta Hamlet until May when things starts to get really busy. It was a nice and quiet getaway nonetheless, which was what we needed. The lodge has a restaurant where we had breakfast. Love the paintings of a local artist which adorns the walls of the hotel spaces. Comes recommended.

The food was great, excellent service. We accidentally walked into the closed pub, but we were kindly taken to the restaurant by someone appearing to be an owner or manager. It is very clean and has pleasant music that is not too loud to be able to enjoy conversation. I enjoyed the Croque Madame.

We didn't stay here but it looked like a great place to stay.We stopped by for dinner and had a wonderful meal!The view from the window tables are spectacular, there was a patio but it was closed at the time of our visit.The staff were very friendly and helpful.We would suggest the Kilmorey lodge Restaurant for your trip to Waterton.

We came back for our 15th Anniversary to the Kilmorey as we spent our first night as a married couple there. Gorgeous interiors and exteriors the restaurant looks out at the lake with breathtaking views. We came for dinner and had the pleasure of having Maddie as a server who honestly in our opinion went above and beyond in her service was so friendly and knowledgeable, but also willing to visit with fellow patrons, she is what makes great hotels amazing. Way to go Kilmorey with hiring amazing staff, keep up the good work. Plus absolutely amazing food, the Prawns with their sauce are 100% Highly Recommended beyond delicious. Also their in house made Saskatoon berry pie was amazing.

Stayed overnight. Great location. Checked in early and the room is available already (1530h). Clean and looks new. Either you'll get a mountain or lake view. Plenty of towels (you don't have to ask for extras) love the pasta delight, tasty and tangy. Good for sharing as well. The are only few things that I wish could change on our next visit. The resto needs reservation, we ended up eating on the pub with a kid. Breakfast is not included. And it's a two storey hotel, can definitely hear the noise from outside. But overall, I recommend this place if you're planning to stay in Waterton.

Honestly amazing all around. Food is legendary. New and AMAZING. Must try. Friendly vibes. All around. When it comes to the efficiency of the restaurant, special shout-out to Nikki. She makes sure that place is spotless, tidy and ready for guest. You may not get the blessing of seeing her or being in her presence, as she is Head Dish. If you do, give her a hey and thank her. She is one of the many reasons that your experience is as amazing as it is. Special shout-out to all Kilmory Kitchen. As they are talented souls that are working their craft beautifully.Enjoy y’all’s visit!!

What a beautiful hotel! We came for a weekend anniversary getaway. It was fantastic! The location is perfect--not downtown, so a little less foot traffic. But right on the lake and literally minutes from anything you want to access. Our room was beautiful--spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped! The bed was really comfortable. Nice new smart tv was enjoyable after a day hiking and exploring. A little private deck with patio chairs were wonderful to sit and relax, watching the lake and wildlife. The restaurant on site had great menus. We enjoyed our breakfast there amd wish we had more time to try the dinner menu as well. Highly recommend!

With no other restaurant open in Waterton two weeks ago, we drove to-and-from Pincher Creek to dine; but we also chose to have a few meals here. It was a mixed experience.We had breakfast and were served both times by Brad (just one of two people serving with about a half-dozen guests in the restaurant each time, he did his best both times and due credit). Lunch one day was served by Sydney (splendid service including from the bar, prompt drinks and food - the mini-Yorkshire Pudding was delicious and so was the deep dish Apple Betty). Dinner one day was served by Stephen (they were expecting about 25 people that night but ended up with many more, he was constantly on his feet and we felt bad for him).We are going to give the staff the benefit of doubt that they meant to do their best. There are however elements that could be done better.Service: coffee spilt on the table while it was being poured should not take in excess of 15 minutes to blot and wipe off, two reminders and we ended up asking another server for a spare cloth napkin from the cart to do the same. Over 20 minutes for a drink from the bar, and over a half hour each for one breakfast and for dinner; could be vastly improved.Food: when over a quarter of one’s mussels in one’s dinner are closed and therefore should have been discarded, they should not be on a diner’s table (we chose not to say anything, asked for dessert to go; which was quite good - the Cheesecake and the Sundae - and left).Waterton, its hospitality, its stores, and its restaurants; have been a fond memory for our extended family over the years. Our previous reviews clearly reflect that.Perhaps our experiences at the Kilmorey Lodge were just a one-off - some good, others not - but if we do choose to return, we would love to see them turn things around.
