Unable to resolve incorrect time/time zone issue, resulting in the physical thermostat showing an incorrect time from what the app/web-app shows.To add, the thermostat no longer connects to the internet due to a backend" issue.Because of these two issues

Thermostat screen malfunctioned and became unusable after a few years in a new build. I sent an email to the support address and got an almost instant response. Wife was pregnant and we had no AC. They sent a technician out basically immediately and resolved it under the warranty. Excellent service. A pleasant and rare surprise! Hardware issue was inconvenient but their quick resolution could not have been better.

If I could give zero stars I would. One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with in my entire life. The employees are rude and don't respond to emails. They sell shoddy products, with false claims and even worse customer service. I chased them over 2 years for a refund on a defective digital thermostat. If I can give anyone one piece of advice - avoid like the plague.

The most USELESS thermostat in the market. You want to turn it off? Guess what?! You need to press the MF button 11 times and then press OK!! Genius!! and that's the beginning. Imagine if you want to change the fan speed or Heat/Cool settings, It's the same process. You can not replace it with Nest or ecobee (which they both are compatible with 95% of the systems out there) just because this one is so unique!! You can not control it with your phone unless you pay $199 so they can just enable the WiFi for you! Such a advanced option for an Add-On!! I don't know how they managed to sell these thermostats to my condo. Good marketing I guess, I'll give you that.

It’s been a year now and their newer thermostat is STILL NOT WORKING ONLINE (had to use it because they make sure you can’t go with a Nest or other brand ). Their marketing company does a good job to convince builders to install their proprietary technology in new condos. They even hosted a networking event for the Toronto condo conference this year. This company needs to be reported to the government on their business practices

Update: Sadly will have to change my rating from 5 to 1 star. I upgraded to their new smart thermostat two years ago that they were pushing for customers to get, as they had discontinued their wi-fi connected add-on and required you to spend $200 on a whole new thermostat. A few months later, its online capabilities stopped working, which was the main selling point for this upgrade. You can see in their replies below that they would fix it eventually, but it's been over a year at this point. I've sent some follow-up emails to ask whether about its status or whether the Universe is even supported anymore, but they won't even respond. Hard to trust their products if they routinely discontinue support for their products so soon. Would like to give zero if can.This terrible product should not be able to sell in the market.It is nonsense in 2022 their unique VFC thermostats in my new built condo IS NOT compatible with google/Alexa or any other platform. Why? Because they want to sell their stupid product for ever.Someone has to open a lawsuit against this company.A bad business practice! A fraud.

The one star is for the responsive customer service. Unfortunately the thermostat is cr*p. The so-called smart thermostat is dumber than the old school devices. Wifi doesn’t work, surprisingly loud, and the setup is not intuitive. Whoever designed this device may have good intentions but failed to consult with real humans to create a working product. Marketing must have been successful as the whole building had this installed, but all the devices will soon be replaced due to excessive complaints from residents. This is such a waste of plastic and minerals which will end up in the landfill. Do earth a favour: Stop.

Atrocious service. Unilux was recommended to me by my condo board of directors when I had a problem with my in suite air conditioner. In 2021 an actuator was replaced, which I happily paid for. Fast-forward to summer of 2022, and the same part that was replaced in 2021 failed again. The part was replaced and I was not invoiced for any repairs. Summer of 2023? Same thing. I've called, emailed and no response from anybody. Business hours are 8AM-4PM during the week making it nearly impossible for anyone with a 9-5 job to reach them. Stay away from this company. They're out to get your money. Not only are they incredibly hard to get a hold of, they're unorganized. When I first paid the invoice in 2021 I was told their labor rate had gone up, but the invoice I was given, didn't reflect that. How do I know that the service technician wasn't just pocketing the extra money? I now rely on a former Unilux employee, Chris, who runs his own company called Breeze Air Maintenance.

Should be a zero star-if that was possible. Stay away from this company. There is no response to complaints or accountability for their defective products. Due to lack of response we had no other choice but to call another company. The service rep from that company informed us of the poor Unilux reputation in the industry. Heed my warning. CALL ANOTHER COMPANY!
