Small place, nice food but pricy. It was busy when I went but emptied quickly after 7PM.All what I ate was delicious.

We came in without a reservation, but still had amazing service et great food! The seafood cataplana was the star and keep the bread to mop up the sauce. Spicy is actually spicy. The lamb shank is also delicious, and fork tender. We are absolutely going back to try the rest of the menu!

I have been at caravela several times in the past. Food and service has always beenvery good to excellent.The owner, always welcoming and cheerful.Todays experience, however, was not enjoyable.The server was not pleasant, not welcoming and was in inattentive during most of lunch experience.We were seated at the front table where every customer coming in would hit the back of my chair and apologize. Although I had initially requested another table, the server refused to accommodate my request. I would have left but did not wish to inconvenience the person that I was dining with.The lack of service continued.We had to wait for 15 minutes and finally had to ASK the server for wine/drink service.By 12:40pm they ran out of haddock.Salmon & salad was okay.Dessert was not available as their fridge broke down (this happens! ).Coffee arrived with milk and sugar. I did not request cream as by now.. who cared anymore.I understand the owner willBe back in October. I may return at that time.

Today we dined-in at a Portuguese restaurant and it was our first time trying Portuguese food and was thoroughly impressed. The food was incredibly tasty and delicious, with a focus on fresh ingredients. The interior of the restaurant was beautifully decorated, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. To top it off, the servers were incredibly nice and attentive to our needs. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious Portuguese dining experience for lunch or dinner!

Wow! I went out for dinner with my family and was thoroughly impressed with Caravela. The food was spectacular. As an appetizer, I ordered the cod fish cakes, which were soft, fluffy and perfectly seasoned. My entree was the seafood cataplana, which was absolutely delicious. The broth was packed with flavour and all of the seafood was amazing. I also had a couple of the egg tarts for dessert with cinnamon on top. Again, these were great. Overall, everyone at dinner was extremely pleased with our visit. Obrigado!

Had a great time we will return for sure. The food was so delicious, from the wine to the flavor, to all of our meals being cooked perfectly. I had the cod cakes and the shrimp and scallops, and a few mussels, which the sauce on the mussels was so good, all of the food was the best I've had in a really long time. The service was excellent. I loved that the owner was also there and serving customers.

This was my 2nd time at this restaurant. This time we went there with couple of our friends and the food is delicious. The Clam chowder is really nice, the seafood delight and seafood rice are the must order food, sorry we stayed till the restaurant closed. Will go back there again.

The best codfish in Canada!!!!! It's been many years since I've eaten such tasty and sophisticated cod as the one at the Caravelas restaurant in Ottawa. I indicate a lot. Mr Henrique attended us personally and with great affection. Breaded and delicious codfish.
