Juste pour rire | Just For Laughs
Had a few laughs. According to brochure festival is supposed to actually start around 4:00 PM. Lots of street food and walk by entertainers. It is worth checking out. Some very funny moments. On the downside, everyone walking through the site gets their bag searched and are told to open any canned drink you might have, regardless if you aren't going to festival, or festival won't be actually starting for hours yet, and you are just walking on St. Catherine's Street to get to your next destination and are forced to walk through site by default, and you just bought a case of drinks from another mall, on sale, to last a week or so. Like many public spaces in Montreal, the public doesn't seem to get much space, privacy or freedom at times, add language barrier and ambiguous rules that seem to be placed on everything but not revealed in signage, making what should be a fun event becomes a hassle. Being told everyone is treated the same wsy possibly defines how little consideration individuals are actually granted in some Montreal public spaces, which can slow down the pace considerably and then add language barrier to what should be a fun place, isn't. Saturday night? July 27th, 2819, it seemed like the cleaning lady phoned police to close ladies' bathroom in food court and people had to squeeze through semi-gated doorway sideways. Wasn't funny and felt degrading, very big brotherish and larger women would have had a hard time squeezing through the small space left. Considering that this was an event which would be attracting tourists, there should have been someone cleaning bathroom who could calmly communicate in English and or at least have a prefabricated sign with words 'closed for cleaning', in both federal official languages placed on the door. If goal is to save French language from extinction, then using every opportunity to teach new French words probably will work better than scaring a bunch of ladies that are rushing to use bathroom for obvious reasons.

The highlight of our vacation to Montreal, the first act was incredible but it only got better from the there. The headliner not sure his name was a bit offensive and sexists and took away from the night that is why I only gave 4 stars.

Amazing!!! We booked this for a ADULT weekend for hubby & me. We went to see Danny Bhoy!!! (Amazing). It was the best weekend my husband & I had. We got to see Montreal which was beautiful. There was lots going on in the city, 99 percent was free!! I tell everyone I can how amazing it was. I even ran into a neighbor (had no clue she was there!)

This is such a great yearly event in Montreal! The humor, the crowd, the energy. Even if you don’t speak French you’ll find so many things to enjoy. I can’t believe all the stages and outdoor activities are free, wow! We had such a great time.

HORRIBLE customer service at the box office. We went to buy tickets for a couple of shows this summer. There was a great deal on their website- 2 shows for $30. The employees behind the counter tried to overcharge us big-time by counting on our ignorance. I mentioned the promotion and they ACTUALLY SAID: Oh okay. We aren't supposed to mention the promotion. It's only applied if the customer brings it up." Ummm
